Halitosis

Posted by Cbs61752 @cbs61752, Sep 15, 2012

Does anyone suffer from halitosis? This is not due to neglecting oral hygiene. If you can share cures. I will be happy to learn from you. Any doctor I have talked with was absolutely clueless and looked at me like I had two heads. My dentist only said to sip water. Please help me if you can. I want to resolve this problem.

Often acid reflux can cause halitosis without the person having symptoms such as heart burn. Try something for heart burn like Zantac or prilosec.

A friend of mine cured his halitosis by taking 1 tablespoon of chlorophyl a day. He took it at night. Besides the bad breath problem, this green stuff is an excellent source of 'green food.' You can buy this at a health food store...not real expensive.

I have bought chlorophyll and mixed it with water. Did your friend just drink the tablespoon straight or minx it with water?

Thank you for your help, Lately I have been suspecting it is due to Candida because my tongue has a white film on it in the morning. I also have several other symptoms which has made me wonder such as crave sugar, depression, gas, skin rash on my neck, just to name a few. Last night I started to browse the Internet to gain insight. However, I have not read that chronic halitosis is a symptom.

Thank you for your suggestion and time.

I have also suspected that reflux could be the reason for halitosis and have tried a prescription to see if it relieved it. However, I did to feel that it did, and probably was the reason for my osteopenia that I developed. After I discontinued the prescription, I noticed that I no longer Felt the need to take Boniva. I am sorry, but I can't remember the name of the medicine right Nile. It was something similar to Prilosec.

As you can see, I have been trying to explore about any avenue to see what worked. This has been an ongoing saga for me and over time, I have lost my self esteem to be in social settings due to feeling so powerless to correct my problem.
I recently retired and have the time to do more researching and connect with others who may be suffering from the same frustrating situation.

Thank you for your input and effort to help me. I really do appreciate it.

I believe he mixed it with non citric juice...like apple... You might have well founded suspicions about Candida. But you can know that the chlorophyl is still good for you! 🙂
I would get tested for Candida. They DO have really 'good tests' for this. At least you can know that this is a malady you can recover from and that is a good thing! I had a senior friend who got extremely sick with Candida... stayed on a strict diet ...became a totally changed, healthy person. Even got married when she was 74!! 🙂
Good luck to you!!

I do have a white coating on my tongue in the morning! What kind of problem does that mean and how do you usually treat your patients?
