Vick’s Vapor Rub for Neuropathy Pain

Posted by avmcbellar @avmcbellar, Nov 29, 2020

Has anyone tried rubbing Vick’s Vapor Rub on their legs or arms for neuropathic pain? I wonder if it would feel cool on the skin with the burning pain. It would certainly help soften the feet.

After I posted this about neuropathy socks, I find I must re-think it. Since using them that one time which was so beneficial, they have not helped the numerous times I’ve tried them afterwards. I have no idea why. The pain is to the point I don’t know what to do.

I also have the neuropathy socks. At times they seem to help and at times they don''t and I can't stand them on my feet. I am sorry for your pain. Mine was so bad the other day , I came close to passing out and then I got sick..I told my surgeon and he is going to refer me to pain clinic.
This pain is unbearable at times and just when you think you found something that works, it no longer does. Are you going to a pain clinic? I feel for you as I know what you are going thru. Praying for you

The first time I used the Vicks, it helped. I used it several times after that and it actually made the bottom of my feet feel worse. Also made me sick to my stomach. I stopped using it and have found that magnalife has a foot spray and cream out that I tried the other day. It helps some. My dr going to refer me to pain specialist. Had a nerve conduction test and EMG done and the Dr said, they are both fine. Not sure how they can be fine..I don't wish this on my worse enemy. I pray you get some relief

@willisann thank you so much! Yes I go to a pain clinic as I don’t think I could stand the pain without them. WITH them is bad enough. How long have you been going through this? Mine is 4 years. Thank you for replying to me and I am definitely praying for you as well. How sweet of Jesus to give me someone to correspond with.

Just FYI. I read somewhere on the site that putting your burning foot in ice water for 10 minutes was helpful. I tried it and it works. You get relief. When you first put your foot in it us uncomfortable. Try to kerp it in for 10 minutes . I know everyone is different but it us worth a try.

My husband has tried many things for neuropathy including prescriptions. He is having great luck with Arnica montana, a homeopathic medicine. One brand is Arnicare which is readily available.
The arnica was recommended to us by 2 MDs. One recommendation was made 20 years ago and one a few months ago. It is inexpensive and worth trying.

Welcome to Connect @azotus. Thanks for the recommendation for Arnica. If you would like to meet others who have asked about or are using Arnica just type the word "Arnica" or "Arnica Montana" into the Search space at the top of your screen. Press the spyglass at the end of the space and you will be able to review responses and questions from other members.

When you say that your husband is having great luck with the product, what exactly do you mean? Does it reduce or eliminate pain or numbness? How about the tingles and tangles that seem to run up and down our bodies?

By the way, was your husband diagnosed with SFN (small fiber neuropathy) with a punch skin biopsy?

May you and your husband be free of suffering and the causes of suffering.
Chris
