Transplant: Tacrolimus, What’s Your Target Range?
Hi Transplants!
I am a two year anniversary kidney transplant and my Tacronlimis target range is currently 6 to 8. (When I was newly transplanted my Tacronlimis range was 8 to 10.) I am curious if anyone's Tacronlimis range is lower than 6 to 8 and at what stage was it lowered? Please let me know your experience.
Many thanks! 😊

My husband had a liver transplant due to hcc . They keep his through between 2 to 3 . Now has hcc recurrence 6 mon after transplant . We want University of Mich to change him over to Mtoris like Everlimous or Sirilimous because they Are PROVEN to help with Hcc recurrence and tumor growth but they say its not proven but Mayo and other Transplant centers use them .Its my husband's life I'm fighting for
@myfablife, Over the past 13+ years, my labs and my tacrolimus numbers have had some slight upward and downward levels. I have faithfully adhered to my routine lab schedule, and my transplant team closely monitors my levels. Like you, my team will notify me if there are any discrepancies. Sometimes there is a wait and watch because the level change is minimal. Other times, I may be asked to adjust the tacrolimus dose and get retested before the routine date.
I know how unsettling this can be! I hope that you will hear from your team soon.
Have you been sick or under the weather lately? How often are your labs scheduled?
Whew, that makes me feel a little better this the first time for me.
I have labs done monthly, yes it scared me b/c u think oh no what’s happening to my new liver.
Yes, I have felt a little tired but nothing that worried me but I did get a new puppy who had kennel cough and then got parvo so maybe she gave me something? Just not sure.
Thank you so much for your help😊
Happy Thanksgiving 🍁
Hi @myfablife A few years ago, I had unexplained jumps in my blood numbers. One of the things I was checked for was Parvo. That wasn’t the cause but it was interesting to see it on the radar of possibilities. Apparently it’s something we need to be concerned about with our impaired immune systems. If you continue to feel a bit off you might want to mention that you had exposure to parvo. ☺️
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. It’s always a little more meaningful when we get to spend another holiday with friends and family.
Yes I am definitely going to let them know this. I was tested in the beginning to for parvo.
Happy Thanksgiving to u and yours also. This has always been my favorite holiday with family it is different w/o my folks. I am so very thankful. 🍁💚this day and every day.
