Relapse of symptoms: How long can this go on?
I searched but came out with lots of comments but can’t find what I’m looking for.
I had Covid in may, September and again in October ( negative in between). I feel horrible for a few days to a week then get better. It’s been a constant cycle. Seems it just keeps relapsing. Any idea how long this can go on? Usually I get reflux which leads to cough. Pre and probiotics help some but it’s almost like clockwork. Search yields little though it seems people do have relapsing symptoms.

My post-Moderna vax injury and your post COVID injury hav somee similar symptoms. A good resource for support, advice, and supplement protocols is Facebook Covid Long-Haulers. Thousands of people in that group are sharing and some are actually thriving. The post vax injury folks have ID a resurgence of the EPSTEIN-BARR virus as a concomitant source of injury and symptoms. Some have measurable EBV titers, others like myself, are successfully treatng symptoms with some of the same protocols. A couple of good resources with an EBV focus are Facebook Covid V Long-Haulers and Stuff that works. Becoming a researcher and trying protocols that make sense for your particular symptoms (of available supplements) have helped many thousands of Covid and Covid vax survivors, which may be the best we can do until Docs and big pharma catch up with the Long-Hauler tide. Blessings for your successful healing.
I know that disabled status all too well. Have had several of this days recently myself. Down time is tough.
I read another post of yours where you asked someone for recommendations for supplements. The response you received is one I hope you Google before proceeding to take it!
Here's a cut + paste example of what has been mainstreamed to public media recently:
"New research from the University of Missouri-Columbia indicates the popular dietary supplement nicotinamide riboside (NR) may promote an increased risk of cancer, and may even cause cancer to metastasize / spread to the brain.
Prior research had suggested that nicotinamide riboside, a source of vitamin B3, may benefit cardiovascular, metabolic, and neurological health. NR supplements have claimed to provide extra energy, increased physical performances, and even anti-aging effects. This latest study serves as a strong motivator to leave this supplement on the shelf."
You can find the actual published study if you look and want to read it
Wishing you a prompt recovery.
Thx for the info. and the heads up on (NR)
Oh definitely try it, if you haven’t already. There’s no need to “wait it out” and suffer endlessly. The supplementation really does help!
P.S. I got the name of the Facebook vaccine injured group wrong: (corrected) Neuro V Long-Haulers.
Research and advice noted. Thank you.
Would like to know if anyone had leg weakness after covid. My husband legs are weak and he had covid in August...has had MRI and emg that shows nothing ...no pain just weak legs. ..neuro said might take up to an year to recover
Hi..I had Covid December 19 2021..will never forget that day and Covid does not let me forget either. It has turned my life upside down. I am a long hauler..it will be a year next month and to this day..I still have problems..I never know what my day will be like..the fatique, neuropathy in my right foot and the ulcerative colitis and the GI problems, brain fog..short term memory problems are the main problems along with vertigo which is also long term. After two hospitalizations, one in August and one one in October, this virus still wants me to know that it has taken over my body. Things are somewhat better..its progress not perfection but when people ask me how I am ..my answer is I am getting better every day. I continue to always use a mask in public, along with using gloves. I do not eat out in restaurants and plan to not engage in Thanksgiving festivities with my friends and that is ok.. I sure do not want to be re-infected. Take care of yourself
I, have had are the most bo
Yes, when I got covid the 1st time in Aug. 2021, I ended up with "the jelly legs" which lasted at least 12 months for me. I, too, have long haul covid and, after 15 mos., I still have some issues such as vertigo whenever I move my head or body too much, hand tremors, weakness/fatigue, and tingling all over my body.
I got covid a 2nd time in late July 2022 which re-weakened my legs so I got the "jelly legs" again. I was so weak at times (both times) that I used a cane, walker, and even a wheelchair.
My daughter got covid, too, and she described her legs as being so weak they felt "like jelly". That's the same way I had always described them.
Like your husband, I had an EMG study which showed nothing abnormal. I had three MRIs of which the 1st was interpreted to have shown a stroke (in an area that would not have explained my gait issues), but a 2nd neurologist claimed it was not a stroke but instead Wernicke's encephalopathy.
For me, the things that helped were: when my neuro found my low ferritin (indicating low stores of iron in my body) so I began to take iron every other day, rest/naps, plus sinus meds (as I finally saw an immunologist 13 mos after my 1st round of covid).
Tell your husband to hang in there, keep seeing doctors/ specialists until someone is able to pinpoint something. Get plenty of rest, drink lots of water, take vitamins (B6, B12, C, D3, fish oil/omega 3s, magnesium, and zinc). Those weak "jelly legs" are very real indeed.
Thank you for your respond....hopefully we will all get over this and better days are coming ..
