Dealing with Covid and Anxiety (past and present)
So I am a nurse and last year left an office job for urgent care and we saw many Covid patients. In May I got Covid and had accepted a night shift job in the hospital in June. Since then I got Covid twice, or never fully recovered nobody can answer whether it’s new infection or if it’s dormant and reactivates.
I have a history of anxiety from past trauma but haven’t had problems in over a year. Recently I’ve been having panic attacks and don’t know if it’s fear of getting it again because I do take care of Covid patients or if Covid is contributing. I’m a positive person and do life coaching but this is really bothersome.

I understand! I’ve been struggling with anxiety and panic attacks as part of my long Covid. So I ask myself whether it’s environmental or an accompanying symptom of my long-haulers. I’ve never had anything like this in my life!
Is it very real! Considering biofeedback. Also short-term disability as it’s really interfering with my work performance!!
Yes, I'm having severe anxiety also. My dr gave me busiprone to help, but I'm even anxious to take an anti anxiety pill. The irony.
I don't want to sound glib or dismissive, but anxiety is the only expected or normal symptom associated with long covid. We have a virus that affects the lungs, brain, guts, heart, nervous and muskellatal systems - many at the same time and the medical profession is treating it with a wait and see attitude hopping it will go away on its own. If you have long covid and you are anxious - I proclaim you normal
I had the same severe anxiety during and Post Covid. I have a life long history of anxiety and had never experienced anything like this. My psychiatrist prescribed a low dose of gabapentin which (at least for me) was a miracle drug.
I have had depression all my life and zoloft worked for 20 + yrs.
Had all my shots and a booster and after getting covid my depression has gotten worse and i now have bad anxiety which i never had ...zoloft quit working after i got covid...i feel for everyone out there struggling...day by day is how i approach it and its not fun
