@mrssmith, I expanded the title to reflect the question you wished to ask. There's a companion discussion about age the @john57 started here:
- What is the average age of the gentlemen on here? https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/what-is-the-average-age-of-the-gentlemen-on-here/

Mrssmith, why don't you start off the PSA tally? What was your number and age?

5.1 age 55. Gleason 4+3 and the cancer was already in the seminal vesicles. I’m 76 now, have had 3 recurrences and follow up treatments. Feeling well even with incontinence and ED issues.

I was 68 years when I had my biopsy; PSA was 5.6 and my Gleason score was 8. Had RP two months later in March 2022. Margins clear but Gleason increased to 9 (4+5). First PSA post-surgery (3 months) was <0.01. Second PSA at 6 months 0.5. PSMA/PET was negative. Eligard injection was yesterday. Will begin 6 weeks of radiation of prostate bed and pelvic lymph nodes in two months.

First time on this discussion board!
For reference of medical care, I’m in the Dallas, Tx area.
I’m still in planning of care stage.
I’m 59.
Heart Transplant recipient Dec 2021 (very recent)
4.6 psa
MRI first due to lowered immunity
Biopsy came back as 3+4=7
7/14 positive, 3)3+4 4)3+3
MRI and Bone Scan shows no spread outside seminal vessel
Beginning stage of interviewing Dr’s for treatment
I feel most Dr’s push for type of treatment that their good at…..
I’m on the fence as to ADT Lupron injection. I’ve been advised 4 month shot to ensure no micrscopic cells, but reading side effects cause me concern.
No mention yet by any Dr of performing a PSMA Pet scan.
