How to Search on Connect - It can help you!

Posted by John, Volunteer Mentor @johnbishop, Dec 14, 2018

Do you know about Connect's Search function? I find it really helpful when I want to find a discussion about a symptom that I have and want to connect with other members with similar health problems.

Have you tried it? If not, I would recommend giving it a test run. It's easy, just click the small magnifying glass icon at the top of the window next to the little notifications bell.

Has it helped you? Let others know!

John

Thank you Nancy. I have a pity party once in a while, but like you, my mom, God rest her soul, taught me to get on with it. Wiser words have never been spoken. I am trying my best to accept what is. Some days are better than others. But, I'm trying. 🙂

I just don't want to "talk". I want answers. I have pudendal neuralgia 24/ pain--like a red hot fireplace poker sticking in my ass. I have to sit on ice to numb the pain.. I can go nowwhere without ice pack.. can't go to movies,, can't go to arestaurant, can't visit my daughter in CO . This was caused by a fall on attic stairs with no carpet. I am a complete invalid. Have been on every drug out there. Have had 4 blocks that did not work, DRG stimulation didn't work. Fentynl, methadone I don't want to go on , don't know if they will work...getting more suicidal everyday. I have one more trial wit DRG stim using 3 leads instead of 1. I'm not real hopeful. I had surgery with Dr Dellon in Batimore (don't go to him, he is a fraud and plays on desperate people in pain) $25,000, not covered. IS THER ANYONE OUT THERE WHO KNOWS HOW TO GET RID Of THIS PAIN. IM SUICIDAL. 3 YEARS AND I CAN'T TAKE MUCH MORE OF THIS. KETAMINE? VERY EXPENSIVE AND DOESN'T LAST LONG. I don't want to hear comments from Penelope who tell me ai just have to live with. There is no living with this. Somebody give me a solution please

My 52 year old daughter has been experiencing extreme pain and loss of strength in her hands. She has just been told by her hand doctor, that she has severe arthritis in her hands, and that there is no cartilage at all, just bone on bone in her hand joints. Her thumb joint is swollen outward.
What treatments are available to help this condition. She received cortisole shots 2 weeks ago, and that seemed to help. She went outside and pulled weeds, and now she is in bad pain. She says she can't even remove a cap on a hair spray bottle, and can't hardly push the button to spray.
A cousin of mine recommended prolozone shots which helped her when she injured her knee. I don't think this bears on my daughters condition; but I would like to ask if this therapy could be helpful and longer lasting than cortizol shots? She has received good results from stem cell injections in her rotator cuffs after being told she needed surgery in both. What is your feeling on that? She is also recovering from breast cancer in both breasts a couple of years ago. Thank you.

Hello Margaret @margaretob, I think the answer is yes, at least it was for me. I caught COVID from a friend after I had both Pfizer vaccines and the first booster.

Mayo Clinic has some guidance on COVID-19 that you may want to read through here:
-- Treating COVID-19 at home: Care tips for you and others:
https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/coronavirus/in-depth/treating-covid-19-at-home/art-20483273
I'm sorry to hear your son has COVID and know it's difficult when it's a family member living with you to isolate and keep yourself from getting COVID while your son is recovering.

Did your son's doctor or care team provide any instructions for self isolating and recovering from COVID?

Is it true that the current covid is not stopped by the first 4 covid shots only the 5th one?
