Post COVID: Anyone experiencing internal vibrations?
I have had long covid for over two years and a symptom began sporadically during the initial seven weeks that has worsened since a second covid experience. It began as a “flutter” in my chest upon waking, lasting 5 seconds or so. It is not painful just a new sensation I have never experienced. After getting covid again in February 2022, the internal vibrations have become full body and go on for forty seconds. It is always upon waking or falling asleep temporarily during meditation and waking again. Long Covid retired me from my profession and I am not under any stress. I had a recent cardiac incident (also due to long Covid) and wore a Holter monitor. I triggered it whilst having an IV incident: definitely not cardiac induced. Has anyone else experienced IV like this?

I have vibrations/tremors in my head that started 6 month ago (2 month after my booster). I had an MRI and did many other test, everything came back ok. I saw a neurologist and he thought it was a vestibular disfunction.
In July when I had Covid, it intensified and my tingling/vibrations started in my hands and feet. I also felt my heart beating and working hard. I recovered from Covid and it settled down a bit but it didn't go away entirely. I was able to be active again and have a normal lifestyle.
Just two weeks ago, I was exposed to Covid while vacating with friends, who came down with Covid. A few days after, many new symptoms developed. The tingling/vibrations spread in my body (from feet up). I had numbness sensations in my face, felt like my skin falling asleep. I developed shivers and my heart was working hard. I experienced fatigue and sleep 12 hours every night. If I exerted myself, everything intensified. The hardest thing is to fall asleep and I took Benadryl to help me fall asleep.
My doctor ordered the ANA blood test (marker for autoimmune) and it came back with a title of 1:360, abnomal. I saw my neurologist again and he diagnosed my symptoms as a post Covid flare. I am experiencing SFN symptoms (small fiver neuropathy). He said it should settle but it will take month. However, it can flare up again (even with the flue or other infections).
I tried Gabapentin to sleep, which helped. But my neurologist wants me to stop taking it and wants me to take amitriptyline (anti depressant) and flexural HS at night (a muscle relaxer). I am now reluctant to take the anti depressant as it didn't help you. Did you also take the amitriptyline? What are you taking to fall asleep at night?
I have had post Covid syndrome for 14 months now. I experience a variety of symptoms off and on. In July 2022 I started having the internal vibrations and the neurologist put me on amitrptyline. I slept really well but other side effects were awful (dizziness worse than I already had & strong palpitations) so I decided to discontinue that med and deal with the vibrations.
Hi
I have this, but my vibrations are pretty much permanent. Started about four weeks after my second round of Covid. I also have random very high heart rate and high blood pressure readings, The emergency room thought I was having a heart attack but my heart shows fine I’ve had three EKGs, worn and a Holter monitor, well I had an episode while wearing it but nothing showed, had a CT scan and an x-ray they can’t find anything wrong with me.
I live in Florida and I do think the heat makes it worse.
Other side effects I have all my arms are very numb and tingly sometimes on waking, and I’ve had a lot of gastric problems and constipation. All of the symptoms all started at the same time, so I have come to the conclusion that they are long Covid related. It’s pretty terrifying when the heart palpitations start, my heart rate goes up to over 170 beats a minute sometimes and I can just be sad watching TV when it happens so definitely not under stress.
I found the dizziness and the palpitations happened even before I started my medicine, I truly think that Covid has affected my neurological system and is then causing rapid heartbeat, dizziness and affecting blood pressure.
My friend had the same thing, following Covid. She had it for about nine months also on a fairly permanent basis, it seems far worse when I first wake up in the morning
Have you ever tried seeing someone who treats the nervous system, like a chiropractor?
People with long-haul also find relief (sometimes) by using ice baths as a therapy. It seems like it acts as a "reset" for the entire body, and an over-stimulated nervous system. (That's how it feels to me anyway.) This is a very common therapy in Europe and other very cold countries.
And on that note, I know several people who have completely healed (severe) ailments with just hot and cold water therapy (switching back and forth between the two). This type of practice is also common in other parts of the world.
You're describing very common symptoms for Covid long-haulers, and yes, it certainly affects the nervous system. I had extreme dizziness, fatigue, light-headedness, heart palpitations, tingling in the fingers, BP changes etc (though I tested negative for POTS).
Ironically, I had a car accident around the same time (March 2022) and my 3x per week chiropractic visits actually cleared up a lot of symptoms + extreme hydrations and other supplementation helped immensely too.
Another of the many symptoms - I have the nervous vibrating symptoms in my right arm (If it had been my left arm I would be in the emergency room checking to see if I had had a heart Atack. If you stay calm at night you can feel he vibrations - in the morning my hand tingles intensely and my whole arm is sore as though I had thrown it out tossing a baseball. So many different symptoms so few cures.
My neuropathy is unfortunately progressing. The pins and needles sensation has spread and I feel it in my hangs/feet/legs, face and even on my scalp. I am experiencing weakness in my legs, problems with coordination, fatigue and these electric shock like sensations that move my whole body. I am also experiencing strong muscle twitches in my legs.
I am worried that my flares are causing more and more nerve damage due to my immune system attacking my nervous system post Covid. I won't get a rheumatologist due to my other bloods test coming back normal expect for my ANA test (autoimmune marker), which was abnormal. To me it's clear that it's an autoimmune response to Covid.
I have read that some patients with similar symptoms are treated with immunotherapies like immunoglobulins and IVIG. But where would I receive those treatments?
My story sounds similar. My vibrations/tremors in my head started 3 month after the booster. I had Covid in July 2022 and my symptoms progressed to tingling in hands and foot. It flared down and I had more energy again to lead a normal life although the head vibrations never completely went away.
I was exposed to Covid a few weeks ago and I am now experiencing a huge flare up, tingling/burning sensations spread to legs, arms and face. Numbing sensations in my foot and face, fatigue (I sleep 12 hours a night), uncoordinated movements and electric shock like sensations here and there. My neurologist is telling me that it's a post covid flare that will take time to get better. But it can flare up anytime even with another infection or the flu.
I am taking amitriptyline which helps me sleep at night as my body needs desperately rest and I was unable to fall asleep without any drugs.
Have you had Covid or do you think it's from the vaccine? Was it the booster that you had two month before vibrations started like me?
Did you do the ANA blood test (autoimmune marker)? I recommend doing that.
I am curious about immunotherapy options for cases like us.
