I have had my TKR 4 weeks ago and I'm having such burning sensation on the inside beside my knee. It feels worse with doing the excercises. The knee itself has no pain and I'm walking good. But that burning!! I feel it happened when I have tried to get out of bed. I pushed myself with the operated leg to turn round.
I hope I have not pulled the muscle. So doing the excercises is rather not helping at all. I'm out of painkillers as well. And it is weekend. I only have paracetamol but they don't help at all. Im really having an unbearable time tonight. I have rubbed Vic's vapo rub in the muscle which helps for a little while. Good luck to all my fellow sufferers. I guess it's still early days for me
Thank you. Aug. 2 will be 6 months since my tkr. Dr said Thursday. The
plastic In my knee may be to big and need replacing. He want be doing it. I
will get a second opinion.
I changed Dr. It has not been over 8 months. Leg is not straight. Walk with a cane. Walking like I am walking has affected my back, my right knee. The Dr I changed to Aug11h was his last day. I now have no Dr. My left knee feels like it will burst open. Very weak leg. I am just lost. Thearpy has done all they could. I worked at home on this til I am sick. What do I do. I have no one to ask this question. I am depressed to say the least. Thank you for replying. The new Dr did say everything was in place properly.
Yes I'm sure I do have that pain in the upper muscle but I have been told it was due to the pressure they have out on my upper leg.
I looked it up on Google and it looks like the MCL that has been stretched by using my operated leg to turn me around on the right side to get up from my bed.
I could feel the pull but it was too late. I guess the damaged was done I have done that a few times in a row thinking it will remember how to work again. It has gee. Years that I could not use my right leg because of the damaged knee. 4 years in all. Thank you for responding to my text. I really appreciate your reply

Find a new surgeon. Look for someone in their late 30s, early 40s. They are very active in their profession, up on the latest developments, and have been surgeons for around 5 to 10 years. They make the best surgeons. Do not go to someone in their 50s or 60s. They make great PCPs but lousy surgeons.

Thanks for that advice. The surgeon that did mine is in his late 50's maybe 60. The new one I got referred to came in and said I hear your here to get a do over. I am like Nooo!!! I am here cause I hurt and my leg looks deformed. I have never ever said do this over.
He said well think about it til Feb. That's a year from your surgery and call if you want it done over. He is maybe 40. I left shocked. My husband which is very quite came out and told me, He acted like a child. I drove 2 hours for that. Ugh.

Not sure where you're located . He's the best.
perks,
Vicks isn't going to help. Try Bio-Freeze if it's a muscle.
Are you sure it's not from the tourniquet they put on your upper thigh during surgery? Weird that this would be a problem though 4 weeks out.

ammaw,
What symptoms are you having? This should have been caught during surgery.
All the best.

Do you have a PT? Mine has been way more helpful than the doctor with relearning to walk straight.
