Anyone have any nebulizer recommendations?

Posted by marlin @marlin, Nov 3, 2021

Does anyone have any nebulizer recommendations. Would like something compact and easy to clean. Also any online sites that people recommend to get your supplies such as nebulizer and saline vials from? briefly looking it seems like there are a lot of options and they are fairly inexpensive.

@becleartoday Yes, I also had problems with my Innospire Go and it only lasted about a year but I'm still going to get another one because I couldn't believe how fast it was. And just yesterday I got my new ProNebu nebulizer and spotted one little sentence that said "do not use any medicines in powder form (even if dissolved)" and I had JUST dissolved a glutathione capsule into my saline which I now believe probably broke the Innospire. That's what I get for not reading every piece of the instructions. I also have liquid glutathione for the nebulizer and I go back and forth so now I'll use the capsules only with "desktop" nebulizer (as I call it) or as @sueinnm calls it the "slow and go". And I use just plain 7% saline without the glutathione some days but what I've found is at the glutathione makes my low grade inflammation go away for the period of time I'm using it. Nan

Hi Nan,
Looking to get my first nebulizer. Am on waiting list for the Innosphere which seems to be the favorite of a lot of the community members. Am looking into buying the Pro Nebu or Omron Microair.
Are you happy with your Pro Nebu? Can it be sterilized in a baby bottle sterilizer?
Thanks.

@turnbacktheclock I actually use my Pari Trek S more than I use the Pro Nebu when I'm home. I take the Pro Nebu if I'm going on a trip because it's smaller. But like others I'm still waiting on the Innospire Go. I've never seen any nebulizer work as fast as that one. But the Pro Nebu is ok. I think I actually bought two of them because the price was so good but it was awhile back so I don't remember what it was. Oh, now I'm remembering why I went back to my Pari Trek S at home because I can use a mask to nebulize and then be hands free because I work at my computer while I'm on it. With the handhelds you can't really do that as well. Nan

Hello, can you please advise who makes the Innospire Go. I am interested in purchasing but they look so different from what I have. Thank you in advance.. PS a picture would be great.

Philips makes the InnoSpire Go. It is currently unavailable, some places have accepted back orders, but Philips currently is unable to offer a firm availability date (I'm waiting for a new head as mine is at the end of its recommended life & beginning to be a bit finicky.)

Thank you Sue. Do you recommend another?

Are you folks using a nebulizer cup attached to an Aerobika? Doing the 10 breaths, then three huff coughs, and then a big cough to expel sputum? I would love to use a mask but I don't see how the two would work together. Am I missing something?

Sorry, I'm not familiar enough with the others to make a recommendation. Maybe @nanette or @macheese can offer you more?

Lyle, I clicked on the url and got a 404 message. I checked your earlier posts and saw another link to the APOWUS nebulizer and the Amazon page says that it is "currently unavailable". I've gone to the APOWUS website and the only option for purchase is through Amazon. This is getting so frustrating.

I'm sorry this happened to you, but Amazon is a huge reseller of products from around the world, and brands and vendors change as frequently as the weather.

I will add a personal note of caution - in my family's experience, these low-priced nebulizers tend to be best for occasional use, as for colds or seasonal asthma, not necessarily for the rigorous twice daily use we tend to give it. My daughter and I both tried them, and they lasted a couple months. It would probably make a great "grab'n'go" neb for use on the way to work or short trips. But to rely on it, I would have a spare on hand...
