Nete,

I'm so sorry that you're going through this. I clot too much due to a blood disorder and when I had a back injury many years ago, I had pulmonary emboli in my lungs.

I don't know which specialists are working on your case, but I would ask to have a hematologist be consulted. There are different blood disorders that can cause a person to clot too much. Also, sometimes different drugs can cause it. For example, the first thing I was asked was whether or not I was on birth control.

I do know that extended periods of not being mobile can also cause clotting in people that have back, hip, knee injuries and surgeries.

I'll be keeping you in my thoughts. I hope that they figure it out soon.

Thank you so much. My son has asked for a hematology consult. I can’t go for rehab until the chest tube comes out but it’s still drying so much. My Dr.s finally cultured the fluid but no results yet. My surgeon says possibly Monday or Tuesday but they are not ruling out lung cancer now. My oxygen was turned down Sat. morning to see if the spirometer helped with the pneumonia I still have but I was choking so bad. I had 8 nurses from med. surg. floor in my room. Nothing coming up and nothing going back down. Needless to say, the oxygen was turned back up. I know this is going to be a long process and my team is working hard to find answers but mostly for my lung now. I did however get the stitches from my amputation and both legs, well 1 1/2 legs look great. As soon as the chest tube comes out, I can go home for at least 10 days then back for a checkup. Thank you for chatting with me and relieving my mind a bit. God Bless 🌷🌷🌷
