Sleep Restriction Therapy

Has anyone tried Sleep Restriction Therapy, working with a Cognitive Behavior Therapist, to overcome their insomnia?

Hi @ripley, I did a search but could find no members who have shared that they've tried Sleep Restriction Therapy but hopefully members who have tried it will see your discussion and respond. I did find a couple of articles on the topic that you might find helpful if you have not already seen them.

Are you considering the treatment?

I have taken Mayo's CBT-i online education. Was not referred to as Sleep Restriction Therapy, but sounds similar.

Did it help, no. I had heard most of the information before. I have an appt next week to talk to my primary about sleep problems. I wanted to make sure I had tried everything before appointment.

It does have you keep a sleep log to track sleep. I plan on taking that info to dr appt.

I am starting my 3rd week of Sleep Restriction Therapy, working with a CB therapist. I would like to compare notes, or get support and advice from anyone who has tried this therapy for insomnia.
