Posted by jem4 @jem4, Sep 13, 2022

Had blood drawn at ER for evaluation for chest pains norm al ekg and normal heart levels..Wbc elevated 11.1, neutro abs auto elevated 8.3, lymph auto low 17.0, IG# elevated 0.10, IG% elevated 1.0% should I be concerned about these levels?

Hi @jem4 and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. Trips to the ER for chest pains are always a little unnerving. From what I’m reading is that you had a normal EKG and your heart seems to be fine? That has to be a relief.

But those blood tests show some of your blood numbers are just above or below the ‘normal’ ranges on charts, along with a little elevated IG level, which can indicate an early sign of infection, inflammatory response or other potential medical issues. What did the ER doctor suggest for you? Usually there’s a followup with a primary care physician. Your doctor may order another round of bloodwork just to rule out infection, etc. Have you talked with your PCP after your adventure to the ER?

Getting anxious anytime we see something ‘out of the norm’ on a blood test is a pretty common reaction…I’m guilty of that too! Our first response is to hit Dr Google. ☺️ Sometimes that just drags us down a rabbit hole and we see all kinds of things that don’t even end up being relevant.

Your appointment is coming up quickly so that’s great. I hope you get some reassuring news and everything is a-ok! If you don’t mind, would you let me know what you find out?
