Erectile dysfunction: I'm young and worried
I am 15, when I was younger for years I humped and applied heavy pressure to hard objects. Now I can’t get fully erect. Is there anything I can do?

Hi @brayden02, I can see that you are really worried and want to talk to someone who has answers for you. It is unlikely that humping and applying pressure to hard objects when you were a kid would effect your current erectile dysfunction. But I'm not a doctor and I don't know your medical history or current medical status.
@jenatsky might have some thoughts for you.
I recommend that you talk to your doctor about this. Do you have a doctor that you can see alone, without your parents? Are you able to talk to your parents about this and be taken seriously?
@brayden02, it's me again. I thought I would look for some article online for you and found this one to be helpful:

And this one:
- Erectile Dysfunction In Teens: Causes, Symptoms, And Treatment https://www.momjunction.com/articles/erectile-dysfunction-in-teens_00400807/
Excerpt:
Erectile dysfunction in teens is common, and it may often occur due to stress, anxiety, or other factors such as smoking (1). Sexual health is an important aspect of adolescence. But many sexual health issues, including erectile dysfunction (ED), are often overlooked by teenage boys. Hence, it is recommended to seek medical care and treat the underlying cause of ED.
Do you have stress in your life at the moment or deal with anxiety? Do you have other health issues that might be the underlying cause?
would teaking a break from masterbataing help, I’ve been told that is can and I’ve also been told it doesn’t make a difference
Brayden, this is something to talk with your doctor about.
@brayden02
I believe because there are so many factors involved in achieving an erection you need to be evaluated by a physician to see if one of them is the culprit. You need to be sure high blood pressure, heart disease perineal or penile injury or diabetes numerous others things aren't playing a part. I assume you don't use alcohol or illicit drugs. Psychological problems are another possible cause. Have you had all the necessary hormone and other blood tests done? A Urologist or even Endocrinologist may be helpful.
Best of luck Brayden,
Jake
I’m guessing since your young you’re talking with your pals about this problem and maybe where some advice came from. You should see your pediatrician if you have one as you are still young enough to see one. Your body is going through many changes at this time in your life and it’s better to know more about your body than less. This is most likely a passing thing.
@colleen I agree that Brayden needs to bring this up with his parents. He does not drive, his parents would be responsible for billing and probably have to make the appointment. They do not need to be in the exam room.
I don't think I would have been able to have that conversation at 15 or any age, however, young adults are smarter and savvier than my generation.
Hey mom and dad I used to be able to get a boner any time. For some reason, it doesn't seem to be working. Do you think I should see someone? Sounds easy on paper.
While all the replies to this thread are good some seem targeted for a 21 and up individual, not 15. You should see your DR, urologist, pediatrician, etc.
@colleen One thing that I rarely see mentioned, related to ED is pornoghry. Arousal and an erection are heavily dependent on a state of mind. If looking at porn no longer gets you aroused or takes longer and longer then the mental aspect gets duller and duller contributing to ED. It doesn't matter that you are healthy physically.
Sex for a male is a mind game and not an on/off switch.
My two cents.
