Anyone experiencing post covid heart issues?
hello,
I am 19yrs old and have had Covid twice, once at the start of the year 7th Jan and recently 8th of July. I am finding now i have some symptoms of POTS but am not sure. my resting heart rate is around 60-72bpm but when I stand up it increases to around the 120bpm mark, my head also gets tight and I feel very dizzy and fatigued. my blood pressure however is high. normally i am healthy and active but when going for a walk my heart rate reaches nearly 160pbm and get out of breath fast. i do also get sharp pains around heart and chest area. has anyone else experienced this? or know what it could be? thankyou:)

I had moderate symptoms from Covid (chest tightness, extreme headache, fatigue, loss of taste and smell, and Covid toes) with no hospitalization.
I am now 10 months post diagnosis and continue to struggle with heart attack type symptoms daily (pain in chest, right arm, jaw and shoulder blade) along with chronic fatigue.
Has anyone else experienced these types of symptoms?

Leah, have you had your heart checked?
Ask for 2 weeks hr monitoring. I wore zio patch for 14 days, whenever i had symptoms, i would press button and there is a log book where you write what kind of symptoms and what you were doing at that time.
After 14 days, you put in prepaid box, mail and wait for results from your md.
Thank you. I am an UltraMarathon runner - I ran a 100 mile race in November, 2020, and a 50K trail race 2 weeks before contracting Covid. Now, 10 months later, I struggle to run more than 2 miles consecutively at a very modest, 12 minute pace.
I have had extensive workup, including echocardiograms and a Cardiac MRI. The Echos initially showed a 20% reduction in LV EF. My EKG's were also abnormal until just recently. After 12 weeks of restrictions (no exercise, caffeine or alcohol) my echo shows normal EF. The cardiac MRI was ordered due to continued symptoms, which revealed normal results. I did wear a 5 day Holter monitor during the early stages of my issues (1 1/2 months following positive test.)
While I have returned to (new)normal ADL's, exercising at least 4 days/week, I am concerned about the continued symptoms. I do not know how long I should overlook the chest pain and fear that, if untreated, I may be doing more damage.
My Cardiologist agrees I should not still be having these symptoms, but isn't sure what else to investigate. She suggested I participate in a Covid Long Haul clinic, but they are booked out pretty far and/or difficult to get into. I thought starting here would help; to learn what others have done and what they're experiencing.
What did you learn from the Zio Patch? Were you ultimately diagnosed with any specific issues?
I am waiting for my results, just turned in on Monday.
My gf had PVCs, i believe she had echo done after and was put on medication
Yes, I have had the heart issues. I have been seeing a cardiologist and yesterday had a heart catherization, looking at both sides of my heart. I believe this will be my final test as everything looks good. Are you seeing a cardiologist?
What types of issues are you having? Please keep me posted on the Catheterization results, if you're comfortable. That had crossed my mind as a consideration.
I can only say that the tightness in the head is a symptom I share, but you mention nothing about seeing a dctor lor having any tests like an echo or EKG?
@emilycoop03, I wanted to check in to see how you are doing. Your post sure got a lot of responses and suggestions.
Have you been to see a cardiologist? Are you still experiencing POTS-like symptoms?
