Complications/symptoms after Gallbladder Surgery
Hello. I am a Male 32. I had my gall bladder removed 4 days ago. Since I have had strange pains and feelings. Nausea after I eat Everytime. I realized after it's removal my stomach will have swelling, but it feels like there is a Large Knot just right of my Belly button. I also have had severe Hunger type pains. It's the only thing that I can compare it too. Very bad and painful pains that resemble Severe Hunger pains. I have also had headaches since the surgery. Mainly the right back of my head, it feels like there is a Knot under my skull almost. It doesn't hurt severely, but it does hurt sometimes worse than others. And nothing seems to help. Almost a throbbing pain. And of course pain across my entire abdomen. Top to bottom. Side to side. Which is to be expected I guess. But I have have more pain in my right chest and under my left breast off and on. What of these are to be expected and not?

I hope your surgeon was able to find out why you have felt so miserable.
There are many members here who also have suffered after the same surgery.
It happened to me too- I ate a banana(!) the day after I came home and got excruciating pain and nausea. In my case there was swelling from the surgery that caused the opening into the intestine to close. It resolved by itself.
Can you please share with us what the surgeon found on your visit yesterday?
What did the doctor told you about the type of food you should eat after the surgery? Modern times: My son and later my daughter had the gall bladder removed (laparoscopy) and they were told they could eat everything moderately. They had pains, nausea and other problems. I had my gallbladder removed 1967, at that time open surgery. Then my doctor told me to eat only cooked vegetables and fruits, cooked oats, no desserts, no alcohol, no raw fruit or vegetables, chicken broth and after some weeks cooked chicken or steamed fish. Six months. I hated it but I stuck to it. And capsules of dried bile. Never had a problem since then. I am 81.
Hello,
I had my gallbladder removed on January 17 of this year follow by 4 days later with a ERCP to remove a stone that was stuck in my bile duct. about 2 months ago i started experiencing what was like gers symptoms. i'm concerned though it could be bile. on facebook im on a bile reflux group and they all have me worried they keep saying it sounds like bile and ppi's dont help bile but make it worse. im on a ppi as well as taking gaviscon. im experiencing the same symptoms. tightness around my throat , sore throat, dried out throat, a lump feeling in the back of my throat. when im like this i can only eat soft food. my husband has acid reflux but now im getting worried it could be bile as he has thrown up. i never have thrown up, i dont have pain in my upper chest. i am having a endoscope june 2 hope to get some answers. but these people on facebook keep telling me you dont always pick up bile in a endoscope. the is a ph abundance test but i mentioned it to my dr and he said we could discuss it at our follow up which isnt until mid august. a friend tell me to stay off those groups as they just increase my anxiety which they do. she said just take one test at a time. im so confused i find myself googling stuff all the time and it just worries me more. here people seem more compassionate on facebook they just scare the crap out of me. also does anyone know what i can do about this overall dried up feeling in my mouth its awful and can anyone tell me if they had bile and if it sounds like that to them. like i said my husband several yrs ago was diagnosed with acid reflux. but he gets the burning in his chest and has thrown up because of it sometimes weird colors. he never had a endoscope so now im worried about him. im trying to convince him to get a endoscope. but he's resistent. his older brother died from esophegal cancer and when i remind him of that he always says that his brother was also a heavy smoker and took zantac. can someone please talk to me. im a jangle of nerves. thank you.

I want to clarify if you or your husband is having complications post gallbladder surgery to be sure I can provide the best response?
thank you!
I'm having same symptoms 4 weeks after surgery now and it's very depressing I'm barely eating. Anyone found a solution?
Hi there
I had my gall bladder removed three weeks ago.
I now have pain in my upper and mid back and feeling nauseas. Haven’t been able to return to normal life yet. Get very fatigued.
Any one else had back pain? Mostly around the rib cage.
Thanks 😊
Hi there
I’ve recently had my gall bladder removed via a key hole surgery and have been experiencing the same severe headaches you have mentioned, can I ask do you still suffer from these and if not how long did they last following your operation.
Thank you.
Hansa
Hi I had mines removed on the 18th august and I’m still experiencing the symptoms you mentioned
4 weeks post op..
I had gallbladder removed last year - October and I was not able to resume regular diet intake until January 2022. I was scared because most people do not have this issue but a small number of people do. One doctor me that is should not be more than three months and he was right. I lost 25 lbs but have regained most of it back. I ate salmon alot during 3 mos.
