@stellalexi2
So I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I don't know if my information can help you or not I can only tell you what I've been through. To keep it short it was a car wreck and many surgeries to my right leg That ended up in me having mrsa stuck in my hip joint and not being able to get the last surgery I need which is a prosthetic hip. The damage from the wreck to my hip is so bad I have to have a custom hip built and they will not do it until the infection is gone. I have had 4 surgeries debris and replacing antibiotic hips. Each surgery I receive a picc line and go through a 6 week IV antibiotic regiment. Currently on doxycycline but have done vancomyson also. I am currently working with infectious disease and a top surgeon out of Vanderbilt Tennessee. Each surgery I get sent home with 2 wound vacs. 1 is a wound drained reservoir the other is a provina 8 day wound vac. These wound vacs are made to remove Any type of drainage from the surgery area. Neither of them are made to last more than 8 days after surgery and then you are to just keep the area clean and dry. I wish you the best.
