Grover's Disease: What works to help find relief?
I have been diagnosed with Grover's disease under my breasts. I had a biopsy for diagnosis. Tried topical ointment with no really good results. Any ideas?

Yes, that’s the first one I used and I also buy Majestic Pure Tea Tree Oil Skin Cream. Let everyone know how they work for you. My Grover’s went away pretty quickly after I started using them.
Great that you found a remedy for your itch. Yep, it's a bad news bear, alright.
What's the name of the cream you're using?
I've been reading all your posts for a week to help find relief from the itching. I've had Grover's for nearly a year and now it has covered almost every square inch of my body at some point. I've tried Triamcinone cream which didn't help at all, Clobetasol cream which did help a little and took Acitretin 25mg for 3 months. I'm not sure if the Acitretin helped and the side effects are numerous so I just stopped it to see if the Cilantro smoothie does the trick. Someone also mentioned Boudreau's Butt Paste so I've been trying it on my legs for a few hours each morning....it does kill the itch, but what a mess it makes! I've also used Sarna and Gold Bond powder, both versions that contain menthol....they help for a short period. I'm going to get some of the Tea Tree Oil creme to try....let you know how that works out. The reason I stopped the Acitretin is that on my blood work last week my thyroid TSH level has dropped to scary low levels and it may be the cause along with the Clobetasol creme....just don't know......this is getting old!!!!! I'll keep you posted and continue to follow all your suggestions.
Yes please, follow up and let's know how you got on 🙂
Aveno has a restorative skin and itch cream that works, I have also been taking Vit A and D along with a cilantro pill and a cilantro smoothie every day, has kept it at bay for weeks now. I use dr Bronners baby soap in the shower, cool shower, stay away from hot water.
Thanks for the tips! I'm drinking my cilanrro smoothie at this very moment! I'll add your other suggestions.....can't hurt! Yes, I agree with the cool showers....staying cool in Florida this time of year is a challenge.
I also always have a spray bottle with water at hand that I use to hydrate my skin whenever I get heated, it seems to keep to itching down.
Cilantro smoothies didn't work for me, however I may not have stayed with it long enough. Creams with high % menthol (like Ben Gay) worked better than the strongest steroid creams.
Warm showers and even sweating didn't seem to make things worse. Walking or running 4 miles a day, even in Summer, was a million times better than sitting in an armchair watching TV! For me, it was all about "occlusion" or the lack of breathability. Breathable shirts, wicking fabric, or even shiftlessness, really helped. Using a heavy towel or a non-foam pillow between my back and the leather armchair was a tremendous help. Sleeping on anything breathable, getting the body as far away as possible from foam or plastic in the mattress, improved things. Better yet was sleeping in a Mayan or Yucatan style hammock, which provided instant relief. And Claritin helped a lot. My case is in remission but I still sleep in the hammock, limit time in the recliner, and take the Claritin.
I don't have this condition but do have allergies and a stronger reaction to bug bites and such than friends get. And sensitive skin that is slow to fade mosquito and insect bites. I got bitten by something when on vacation in the Caribbean and was itchy and shaky enough to get worried. The ER doctor suspected spider bites, and I was given an antihistamine injection. I still had the bite marks weeks later, despite taking oral antihistamines, and a pharmacist back home suggested topical Caladryl. Calgary contains Benadryl and calamine lotion. There's a clear version that is invisible on the skin.
It worked fast and has been the only thing that worked on other occasions. For those of you benefitting from oral antihistamines, consider trying a direct topical approach.
Great idea....I'll add it to my repertoire!
