Does anyone know of this. I think its rare but does exist. My neurologist does not know about this. I have compression between my c5 and c6 cervical disk and have had alot of sun damage to my skin.

I used a compounded cream that worked with ketamine, amitryptaline and lidocaine. Was about $65 for a small amount. Most compounding pharmacies can do this with a script.

FYI - I eventually got off of the cream and the CNS drug, by taking the right magnesium product- which not only resolved the itching but does a lot more. See Remag product on Amazon.

hi went on Amazon and found so many different Magnesium products. Care to share which you used? I can then get a better idea of what we should order. ( I type this for my wife as she also is nearly blind)

Hello, I have this exact diagnosis - same everything, no rash, severe SEVERE itching on forearm(left only) issues with my neck, and sun damage. I want to find out all I can regarding this - I am going INSANE with the itching. Only thing so far that TEMPORARILY takes the itch away is ICE.....

Believe it or not, Vagisil works best on my forearms. It may work for pain as well, as it numbs the area. A prescription pill, Hydroxyzine also helps as it is associated with anxiety. Keep your arms covered in the sun with white sleeves. Heat triggers it as the original cause may have been caused from excessive heat as with scalding hot water. Sun exposure while in the car also causes it.

Thanks for the reply. Wife rarely goes out and when she does her arms are ALWAYS covered due to the outbreaks. Right now she is using a numbing crème and Capzascin. She has tried every topical crème and has tried many drugs that were created for other problems but may help with the itching. Going to try Magnesium now.

I have tried it all nothing works in fact it makes it worse. Does your wife's itch start with a burning sensation under the skin first?

REPLY

Yes. It starts with a burning sensation, then erupts into a lesion of sorts. Some things take away the burning others the itch. Like you nothing works. it is all over her body. Started with her left arm and gradually spread. Had been seeing numerous Dermatologists and no one could help no matter what was prescribed. The one thing that did work for her of sorts was Amatripoliin compound with another crème. Was costing 700.00 per month then the drug plan no longer paid for it. Many topicals, injections of some drugs over the years and nothing. Also she is nearly blind so cant take a medication that can cause drowsiness as she needs all her senses to be alert. Really appreciate your understanding and like her nothing works.

Has she gone to a spine specialist yet? I just went and had a steroid shot not working yet but they say it could take 3-7 days to work

Hello All. First time I am on here posting anything, Looked over the site and I have to say my wife has the same problems that many of you have. She would be typing this but she is nearly blind, so I am doing this on my own. At first it was thought maybe she was Gluten intolerant and after eating gluten free foods for a few months that did not help at all. My wife has been suffering from BRP for I would have to say at least 25 years. It took a long time for someone to diagnose it . Once diagnosed she tried the acupuncture, light therapy and neither of these worked. . Went to about 3 different Dermatologists and two different allergists. Eventually someone said it was BRP. She had a list of chemicals to avoid and a list of products also. many shampoos, soaps, skin creams you name it. We purchased only those items in health food stores and read many labels. So after many cremes, lotions, medications taken by injection still nothing helps. The results are temporary. Add to this my drug plan dropped some of the items she used. So injections were costing the drug supplier 2K a month for 2 injections. These did not help. SO Ilyne decided to experiment on her own. She found that Capzasin ( someone on here mentioned it) worked temporarily for her. That along with Physiogel (recommended by the Dermatologist) only found on Amazon and comes from Asia or Europe depending which vender was filling the request. Those two together do offer relief. Then it was suggested she try Medical marijuana. That did not help other though some of the Derms other patients were successful with it.,

Last night t as I was passing t he bathroom, my wife was putting some medication on and I noticed her shoulders and upper back had so many sores, she had scratched them raw. I told her I would help her, got CBD oil - its only temporary but she said that with the Capzasin seemed to help..

Someone on this mentioned : Saniona announces successful completion of preclinical development of SAN711- I am sending this link to her Dermatologist for his review.

Hi @ilyne has your wife's Dermatologist done a biopsy and checked for Grover's disease as well? Many people seem to suffer from several skin conditions at the same time. If nothing else, some of the suggested remedies and suggestions on how to manage the itching could help.

Hi, Wife went to her local Dermatologist for a year and she could find nothing. Then suggested we see a Dermatologist in Manhattan. Well we decided to try local again R W Johnson Hospital has a Dermatology branch. Saw 3 Drs there and they suggested the same guy in Manhattan. So we started with him. Did every kind of test, for allergies, blood tests everything and came back with BRP. Went to him for over 10 years maybe more. Just tried more and more cremes and lotions.

She tried light treatments, acupuncture, Went to a neurologist and had xrays of spine. There is a slight compression of disc 5-6 which is common for BRP. Our Dermatologist sent him al etter re spine and BRP - he said never heard of it and thought Dr in Manhattan was foolish to suggest. This Dr is head of Dermatology at NYU Langone. She does not want to ty cortisone
