Botox for Migranes
Despite some of you saying not to try Botox Therapy for Migranes, I did anyway! What a mistake! Toxins such as Botox don't set well in my body.
It has been almost three weeks since my treatment. I have been having the worse headaches than before I started. I have been having severe nick and shoulder pain. I get very lathargic and depressed because I have them all the time. Doctor said it just happens.
Can someone give me some feedback as to if they have had the treatment and any side effects you may experienced. I go to bed with a headache and wake up with one.
I won't do another treatment!

I understand you, Botox has ruined my life, I had Botox shots last Aug. the first shots didn't help much the Dr. said to come back and I got another set of shots on my forehead, after the second session i developed a pain in my head, worse than migraines, I've had it for almost a year, when I cough its excruciating pain have been to 4 Neurologists and because it doesn't show up on the Cat Scan or MRI they just don't know how to treat this, it is so demoralizing I am living with pain every day, and on top of it I still get the migraines.
I would never get Botox again it ruined my life.

1 ReactionI have been getting them and if I am correct I didn't have any serious side effects but if you don't feel comfortable with them yourself. You have the choice to say no. It is ultimately up to you.
Hello @icart. I'm sorry that you've experienced more pain since receiving botox for migraine. Given MRI and CT scans are normal and 4 neurologists have no answer about your pain, Central Sensitization Syndrome (CSS) might be worth researching. Are you familiar with CSS?

No I am not familiar with CSS. Some things don't show up on tests, and if they don't most doctors cannot see the problem, it takes a very good diagnostician to pin point something that is out of the box, this is what I am counting on, to the day when a Dr. finds my problem and once he does only then can it be treated, I realize that I have an isolated case.

Perhaps what he explains will resonate as to why you have unexplainable pain from a very routine botox injection that typically does not cause pain as you describe.
Are you taking medications for the pain? Do you have pain anywhere else or is it isolated to your head?

may i ask if before the botox started working it took 3 tries u mean around the 9th month? The earlier months u had no effect what so ever? I had botox a month ago for the first time and still seeing no effect at all... Thank you

In reply to @benchi300 …. Yes, this was correct for me. I saw no results from Botox until about the 9th month, following the 3rd round of injections. My chronic migraines were at 15-20 a month and my neurologist had stated that sometimes people can get results after a few rounds. I was desperate and ready to endure all those shots in hope of something changing. I have tried so many things over my lifetime and was accustomed to giving my various attempts at least 6-9 months. That was why I kept trying. Good luck in your journey. It is a long and difficult road💕
