Robert, Mayo Clinic's info list swollen salivary glands — particularly the set located behind your jaw - as a common symptom. Do you notice if your salivary glands are swollen? Might that be causing the sensation of numbness?

3 ReactionsI have not noticed if they are or not to be honest. How do you check that?
Hello and welcome. I do have pain and swelling around, above, and below my jaw but no numbness.

1 ReactionIs it a dull ache or sharp pain. Is it constant or does it come and go?
Comes and goes…. Both sharp and a deep ache. Sometimes no pain at all. Almost always slightly swollen… just my new normal.
I also have quite a bit of pain in my right side of my jaw that comes and does. Also inside my mouth on right side always feels painful and swollen.

1 ReactionMy inside of my right side is also.
@lilymol It must be awful to have this almost constant pain in your jaw. Have you found anything that works to subdue it?
Have you seen your dentist for a good workup?

1 ReactionThe LDN and HCQ help with all my pain. As I mentioned it comes and goes. Yes I have my teeth cleaned every 3 months and see the dentist every other visit. I’m learning to just live with some of my symptoms. Life as I knew it before is gone. However I still have joy. My life just looks different now. Ty for the note:)

1 ReactionI just finished more dental work and should be good for a while now. The numbness comes and goes through out the day. Some days none at all. Just saw my GP and she found nothing that would explain the issue. I thought maybe an x-ray would be in order but she did not order one. I see neurologist this Friday.
