Robert, Mayo Clinic's info list swollen salivary glands — particularly the set located behind your jaw - as a common symptom. Do you notice if your salivary glands are swollen? Might that be causing the sensation of numbness?
I have not noticed if they are or not to be honest. How do you check that?
Hello and welcome. I do have pain and swelling around, above, and below my jaw but no numbness.
Is it a dull ache or sharp pain. Is it constant or does it come and go?
Comes and goes…. Both sharp and a deep ache. Sometimes no pain at all. Almost always slightly swollen… just my new normal.
I also have quite a bit of pain in my right side of my jaw that comes and does. Also inside my mouth on right side always feels painful and swollen.
My inside of my right side is also.
@lilymol It must be awful to have this almost constant pain in your jaw. Have you found anything that works to subdue it?
Have you seen your dentist for a good workup?
The LDN and HCQ help with all my pain. As I mentioned it comes and goes. Yes I have my teeth cleaned every 3 months and see the dentist every other visit. I’m learning to just live with some of my symptoms. Life as I knew it before is gone. However I still have joy. My life just looks different now. Ty for the note:)
I just finished more dental work and should be good for a while now. The numbness comes and goes through out the day. Some days none at all. Just saw my GP and she found nothing that would explain the issue. I thought maybe an x-ray would be in order but she did not order one. I see neurologist this Friday.
