What is difference between invasive and noninvasive nodules?

Posted by aksinspringfield @aksinspringfield, Jun 16, 2022

I had tumor in left lung removed. My docs have now determined nodules in other lung are non invasive- which sounds like good news- but they said it is very unusual. I have second opinion at Barnes next week- does anyone have info or insights as to differences in treatment that might be used with non invasive?
Thank you

@aksinspringfield, I'll be interested to hear what you learn at you upcoming appointment regarding invasive vs noninvasive nodules.

Lung nodules can be benign (non-cancerous), adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS) meaning pre-cancerous stage 0, minimally invasive or invasive. Nodules that stay the same size during a two-year surveillance period are not likely to be cancer and non-invasive.

Please let me know what you find out.
