Anyone taken Evenity (romosozumab) for Osteoporosis?

Posted by arlene7 @arlene7, May 27, 2020

Has anyone taken Evenity? I understand it’s only been on the market for a little over a year. I’m hoping it will help with my severe osteoporosis. Any information is helpful.

Hi everyone. I've just started Evenity. I'l have my 3 injection this week. Has anyone else experienced significant joint pain? Does it last throughout the process? Does it improve while on treatment? Does it worsen? I have to say it's creating mobility issues for me as my joints ache and I'm maxing out on Extra Strength Tylenol daily. Appreciate your thoughts!

Hello,

I am so sorry to hear about your joint pain. I have completed 6 of the 12 injections and have had no side effects except for the soreness at the injection sites, which lasts just a few days.

Thanks very much, @bkour. Happy to hear that you're doing well. I'm hoping the joint pain will dissipate!

Is it possible the pains are from bones growing?

I seemed to have more joint pain the first few months- maybe getting better? I take my 5th injection this month. I found staying active (30 minutes +, weight training) helped a lot.
I too was imagining bones growing when it hurt- kind of like labor pains- but no idea if true.

I just had my 3rd dose of Evenity. My insurance denied Tymols and Forteo but approved Evenity.
I am having Evenity in preparation for extensive spine surgeries (3 surgeries all in 1 week).
Surgeon won't operate until bone condition is better. I have no side effect from the injection other than some soreness at the injection site.

I am sorry to hear about your pain. I am due to my 4th injection and I also experiment joint pain all over specially at night but I must say that I started to face the same issue before the treatment -my Dexa score was very low -4,7-
I heard that there are many types of osteoporosis and that some are painful. I read that it could be because of a nerve issue: the bone mass is decreasing but the innervation stays the same -these are my own words, sorry for my ignorance. In my own case it is difficult to state what is the cause of my joint pains.
I wish you serenity.
