How do you deal with depression & too little or too much sleep?

Posted by csmiller @csmiller, Jun 6, 2022

I have long standing problem with depression, associated with loss of sleep (or too much sleep) and anxiety.

I am currently on Seroquel and Clomipramine. What works for a LITTLE OR MODERATE stimulation or to increase my activity. I take 200 mg of CLOMIPRAMINE and 2 pills of SEROQUEL. I need my sleep to function well but understand the Clomipramine and Seroquel are older drugs and may be TOO sedating. What do others recommend? Southwastern US. Thanks.

@csmiller, you're so right. You need your sleep to function well and you also don't want to be too sedated. @lindasmith1222 @trishh @eczarniecki @thaisii @sears @nikk1love might have some tips to share.

@csmiller, have you talked to your doctor about modifying the doses of the medications you're taking or other options that might be right for you?

@csmiller I too suffer from depression and trouble sleeping especially after menopause. Something I do is spray lavender on pillows before going to sleep.
I’ve been on lorazepam and doxipine for years to help with sleep but find that these meds seem to feed into depression and trying to taper off of them. Also take 3 mg of melatonin.
