UPDATE: I've not been going for 3 months. I have reached the trigger points on all machines and beyond. On the leg machine I'm pushing over 1000 lbs of compression (EIGHT TIMES my body weight). On the other three machines I'm doing more than the trigger on all machines except one...the core builder which is my weakest area. I'm consistently at 2.3 x body weight on that one and hoping to hit the trigger of at least 2.5 x my body weight soon.
I'm attaching a copy of my last results. I'm 5' 3.5 " and weigh 130 lbs. I'm going to be 73 in October. I've had no fractures or injuries. I feel stronger and more stabile as I use my time on the vibration plate for strength and balance. (Note there are two pages - one of the machines results is on the 2nd page)
I have decided to give it a year and a half because I started in April of 2022 and I will be eligible for another DEXA at the beginning of 2024. If I see a measurable improvement I'll keep doing it for the rest of my life.
I have been going to the local Osteostrong for 14 months. I pay $159/month for a once a week visit that lasts around 15 minutes. Each visit begins and ends on a vibration machine followed by a supervised routine on the 4 Osteostrong machines. I have been consistently exceeding the threshold level on the machines for bone growth with no aches or pains, but I am fit and have been weight training on my own for years. Recent DEXA showed lumbar spine went from -3.4 to -3.7 while my right hip neck improved from -2.1 to -1.4 (first time I've had a Z score above 0 in years), and my right total hip went from -1.9 to -1.5. Left hip stayed the same. I have never taken any bone drugs but do take Bone Up and extra vitamin D3. Since my DEXA results were a mixed bag, I am not sure if I will continue Osteostrong or try to find another weight training program that is more focused on the spine.
