Bone Loss Drug Reclast
Has anyone had the injection and what have been the results...side effects or not? I am to start on this later this week and am considering not doing it because of possible side effects....the idea that the bone cells causing the bone loss (due to aging) will be changed by the drug scares me.

@helenrose have you considered a bone-growing drug like Tymlos, Forteo or Evenity? I am so sorry you fractured your hip. You are right about working on balance: I do tai chi.
Many years ago I did forteo and it helped increase bone density however I was told I could not do that again due to causing cancer in rats. I have not heard of tymlos. Will look it up. Thanks.
I am having my first Reclast in 2 weeks, I’m really praying I don’t go through what you did! I can tell you that the very same side effects you had have been reported in the Facebook Reclast group, you are not alone. I hope by now you are fully recovered and that the infusion was worth it. I’m very fearful of the med and even more fearful of being without it! I just believe I would have never been in this predicament had My HRT NOT been stopped! I had no history of cancer, stroke, or osteoporosis in my family I believe many women and Drs were pressured by big Pharma and the hysterical media and now are paying the price.
@helenrose That two year time limit on Forteo has been lifted. Just fyi. Tymlos is a similar drug but newer and the two year limit on Tymlos has not been lifted yet. You could do either.
I am approaching my 3 month date post receiving Reclast IV.
Set up to be an annual thing, this was my first.
Oral weekly doses of Fosamax gave me esophageal problems after 3 months, so I tried Reclast.
I got bilateral groin deep aching within a few days that was suppose to go away no longer then 2 wks or a month.
Now 3 months later I still have it. I am not happy about this. Maybe this will all turn out find with some improvement in my Bone density, too early to know.
In the meantime, I have a heating pad to my groin and take 2,000 MG of tylenal / day.
Yes I take Ca++ and Vit. D3.
I walk but the bone aching doesn't increase my desire to want to take walks .
Doctor said we will decide next year what to do next for my osteoporosis in hip.
Note:
My blood Calcium level was taken 5 mo. Before the IV Reclast. It has always been within normal levels.
