Ketamine for chronic pain
My pain doctor recently prescribed ketamine as an adjunct to my pain management. Has anyone had experience with this? It has to be compounded and you inhale it through a nose spray. Since it’s compounded there is not much info on side effects so I’m curious about other’s experiences.

What pain issues is your husband dealing with?
Thank you very much!
Have you tried transdermal buprenorphine? It’s pretty amazing stuff I feel. You can read up on it here https://academic.oup.com/bja/article-abstract/110/6/1010/245725
Hello Colleen, My husband has been dealing with New Daily Persistent Headache (diagnosed by the Mayo Clinic) for 20 years. The "trauma" which started it all was extensive ear surgery which lasted several hours.

TeeTee, may I ask what city you live in— and where you got your treatments? I’m almost afraid to hope. Did your insurance cover it? Thank you.
I have Ketamine nose spray but it did nothing for my NDPH. Doctor wants me to do in-patient IV of it for 5 days but I refused. I'm 75 and I don't want the side effects. A friend did it and she said the hallucinations were awful. Plus, it's not permanent. Insurance will pay after your co-pays i think,

I had ketamine while doctors tried to straighten up my ankle ( dislocated and broken in 3 places). It was awful. The hallucinations were as bad as the pain. I'm 67 and this was 2 years ago.
My husband tried out-patient Ketamine treatments (4 days with 4 hour treatments each day) for his NDPH last year. He didn't feel any pain while on the treatment, but afterwards it was back to the normal pain.
I understand that some people to have good results with the treatment though.
