ONCHOCERCIASIS
The only reason I know this word is because after two years round lesions with dots around the edges that look like little worms pick me up maybe and one. In the middle it was really weird same thing every time and your crew later I break out and something else now I have worms in little bags I don't know dirt and poop and the case looks kind of like a fly Wing membrane now you will look at my medical records my name is Michael Aleci... I am service-connected for eight different reason the military Special Operations Blackjack Mountain Biking accident and fell 2017 and now I have a traumatic brain injury I couldn't talk for three years and I still can't talk well but Against All Odds I bounced back the VA gave me no hope for recovery I lose everything I own they put me in housing complaining to the HUD program they come out and they give them 3 weeks to change things they don't and make it shut down that was three years ago and there was something there that was so bad a little too place and tape it off I woke up every day felt like being stung. The lady who ran HUD for the county is Lynn Johnson the VA had a ready got me evicted because I missed an appointment and that's their whole job could take me to my appointment and then Johnson was blamed but we won't get into that but those are facts I was never supposed to be there VA already knew that there was a problem with that place but we won't get into that I complain the VA they blame me for getting sick they say I'm picking at my skin I'm going to send you some pictures and no picture where I have a beard and I'm jacked is exactly what I look like the very day I had the first signs of what could be this disease as adults because I had a worm inside of me laying it seems like thousands of eggs started it's around my head and ears my fingers and my knees down. This has been going on for three plus years the VA has been told by a private doctor that I paid for I need to go to infectious disease right away he believes I had that disease they stopped at the VA stop. I also saw a die doctor a private eye doctor mind you they called the VA the eye doctor was in North Fort Myers at Tyson Eye Clinic who said there is definitely something wrong it's kind of used to be seen right away VA said we'll see him within 3 days I have not seen anybody I have gone there every weekend snack there for almost 2 months at least once a week I mean forget about the fact that the VA is canceling my appointments and it says administrative reasons forget the fact that I had hepatitis C that's treatable but they won't treat me for that either I had a top secret clearance I called in airstrikes I save lives VA will not sure my appetite has and they won't even test me for anything else cuz they're wasting their time so I went to the hospital who admitted me right away and around dinner time they said the VA called them up and said cut me loose they found another doctor for me and that doctor will see me I went the next day and how to listen it the social worker eye doctor in a psychiatrist accuse me of doing drugs with no positive drug test and accuse me of causing my own wounds for attention I'm serious I need help my leg has been swollen them for three f****** months I'm in so much pain I'm in a constant battle to keep my toes and when I went in there 2 months ago the insulting me when I held the phone up in the air and prayed for everybody here to come say she was having with Tyson Eye Center have that eye doctor thought I had this disease and then I called doctor Burdick and I played it was in my chart and the veterans were mad and they move me to a different place where I would be seen right away and 4 hours went by and they told me the doctor went home for the day covering up the fact that va doc messed up really bad . They told me to come down there they're going to test me and they take stool samples and blood samples in I don't even know and I read my records and they tested me for one amoeba that normally causes diarrhea in juveniles

Hello @noturkendoll and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. This sounds like an incredible amount of stress to deal with and on top of it, not feeling heard by others can be so frustrating. It is good that you have reached out to hear from others who may be able to share their experience.
While we wait for others to join, I found this (older) news article from Mayo Clinic that may be helpful in confirming Ivermectin is the right treatment for Onchocerciasis, or River Blindness.

Have you ever heard of a skin snip biopsy, which is apparently the gold standard for diagnosing onchocerciasis?
I have read what the CDC says and I can't get anyone here to give me the test I've been dealing with this on my own for 3 years
. I need help I have to take ivermectin weekly .took two months of Doxycycline but it came back seems like it's becoming resistant
@noturkendoll have you specifically asked for that test based on your symptoms and been denied?
