Everyone grows at different rates … doctors have average charts and that is what you find on the internet.
I am shrunk at age 70 to 5’5 from my highest height at age 14 of 5’ 6 1/4”. My dad was about 5’11 and mom 5’8. My grandparents on dad's side were his dad about 6’ and mom about 5‘4 and on mom's side dad about 6’ and mom about 5'5. My 3 brothers range from 5’10 to 6’ and my sis 5'9. So I was the shortest child. My son reached 6' by time he was 12 and started growing in his late teens and into early 20s and topped out a bit over 6’4. .. my sister's son did the same and my youngest brother's son was about 5’10. .. his dad about the same and his mom about 5`5. My daughter was about 5'5 by age 12 and grew no more until her late teens and early 20s .. but only an inch. I have 9 nieces and most are about my daughter's height, but a couple reached about 5’7. I did not live near my nieces to know when their growth spurts were.
Growth .. if you are concerned about it talk with your doctor. As you can tell from my family .. you may grow more later in your teens and early 20s. I can't figure out where that extra tall gene comes from in my family tree for my son and my nephew. My son was all the time bumping his head on something as a late teen and had to have stitches on his head a couple of times. He had to have stitches one time in his 40s… hard being a giant sometimes.
All the best wished for you in your life.

i started growing 3 inches a year from 11 years old(boy, i dont think it was early puberty and more like catch up growth). that rate lasted until i was 13 and a half. right after that my spurt ended and my growth went back to my childhood rate which was 1.5 inches per year. I grew that rate from 13.5-14.5 but now i feel like i wont grow that much as im currently abt 5'6 and my dad is 5'8-9 and my mom is 5'0,5'1
Hi I just turned 18 years old and i am currently 6 feet. My father is 6 foot 5 and my mother is 5 feet 8. Growing up i always was in the 96-percentage range for being taller than all the kids my age and around the age of 7 I was diagnosed with B cell Leukemia I had to have a bone marrow transplant. and have been in remission for a while now. when i was about 13 years of age i started lifting weights not anything over the top just going off and on i started to really get into lifting heavy weights at 15 and would lift heavy weights with bad form. I would do this lift called deadlifts with a heavy amount of weight on it and had bad form the whole time I feel that my lifting caused damage to my growth i have gotten my x ray on my wrist and they said it is closed but got another x ray on my knees and they said I have really large growth plates in my knees still. I also have stopped doing that exercise or any exercise that is very heavy for about a year now and have noticed back pain a lot when i try to do anything my back will tighten up and i will fill stabbing. Did i stunt my growth? What should I do?
@granty - Welcome to Connect!
First- Congratulations on being in remission with B cell Leukemia! You have been through a lot.
Heavy duty weight lifting is usually not recommended in youth still growing but I don’t think you stunted your growth. Good news that you still have open growth plates in your knees, indicating that you still can grow.
Your leukemia treatments may also have influenced your active growth those years- or just delayed reaching your final height.
You’ll probably find yourself still adding inches into adulthood.
Good sleep and good nutrition are important factors along with moderate physical activity.
my dad is 5'1 and my mom is 5'3, im 15 years old now and my height is 154 cm
(5'1) my underhair is above 4cm and i grow some beard. will i grow height in future?
Im currently 14 and a biological female that just started testosterone. Im 5"1 1/2 and havent grown a single centimeter since 5th grade. I dont think ive ever experienced growing pains, but ive already gone through puberty. My dad is 6"1 and my mom is my current height.
I was thinking maybe since i started testosterone ill have a late growth spurt but since ive already been through puberty will i just stay this height forever? Even after puberty my chest size is whatever is the smallest bra size is, nothing really changed except for bleeding which was short lived because i got testosterone shortly after.
I dont want to be a short boy, ill be shorter than most girls ill ever meet and my voice still sounds like a little kid. Im worried that ill never grow.
I am currently at the age of 14 as a female but I have not grown for a year and I am just 154 cm .I am a bit underweight but I am trying to increase my appetite to get a normal weight.I still haven’t got my period yet.I am just worrying if my growth spurt has stopped already
Thank you for your help.My favourite sports is running.I have breast development when I was 11.5 years old .Sometimes I feel inferior as my other classmates are taller than me .I am trying not to focus on my thoughts of growing as I don’t want to affect my academic performance.May I ask if I gain weight by consuming healthy fats like whole milk is the most fastest or effective way to balance my hormones ?Thank you
Ok thank you 🙏 I am feeling better now😊
