In 2017 my 27 YO son had a massive right hemisphere ischemic stroke while running on a tread mill. He was initially treated at KU Med & then moved to Madonna rehab, in Omaha, Nebraska for 6 weeks of therapy. No know medical reason was found except that he had a PFO which as closed at Mayo approximately 7 months post stroke. He is able to walk with a brace & has foot drop. He has limited movement in his left arm with clonus of the hand.
I am wondering if Mayo provides any advanced therapy or doing clinical trials with new devices.
Help… from a broken hearted father willing to do whatever it takes to help my son become as much as he can. Thank you so much for your time

Hello @jsbashland and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I am so sorry to hear about your son's stroke. I can't imagine as a parent how scary this has been for you.

I wonder if you've consulted at all with your son's care team who performed his PFO closure to see if they may be able to best direct you toward appropriate next steps?
