My endocrinologist is very happy that I walk two miles a day . He says walking is the best exercise for osteoporosis.

Just want to add that tai chi is very good for osteoporosis, and for balance. There are studies supporting its usefulness. I think the slow motions are actually better than walking to build muscle and possibly bone. I avoid yoga!

Hi @mpeters, I've been a pretty consistent walker for the last 25 + years averaging a couple of miles a day and my bones still thinned so I'm of the opinion that walking isn't enough. I always weight trained as well, but stopped in mid 2020 when I came down with an autoimmune disorder that caused incredible pain throughout my whole body. Through that, I did keep walking. So now I'm trying to catch up with strength training, whole body vibration exercise, etc. Good luck!
