My name is Glen and i have had the Nevro HF10 spinal stimulator implanted since Sept 1, 2021 and the company rep hasn't been able to dial it in on my terrible lower back pain yet. I have complete confidence in this unit because the temporary one that they inserted worked unbelievably well. It's been 6 months and counting with no relief thus far. I'm hoping to reach out and hear from anyone out there about their experiences with this Nevro unit. Please help if you can! Thank You!

Same happened to me! Temp worked great and permanent nothing

A surgeon will always be available. I also have back pain, & haven’t gotten much relief from the kind of surgery you mention. It does work for some people, but I was warned—even by the surgeon—it doesn’t always help. I have found it took a few months to recuperate, & there was some relief but not for very long. We hope surgery will fix us, but I’ve come to the conclusion there are some back pain causes that no one seems to be able to guarantee total relief. Have you thought about getting a second opinion from another doctor re the surgery. Or maybe even a third? That might help you decide what to do.

I have the Medtronic stimulator as well. It helped about 50% at first. Unfortunately my back has gotten worse so that my whole back is involved now. And it doesn't help nearly as much. I'm in the process of getting approved for the pain pump. I hope to have the trial within the next 2 weeks. I will place an update after.

I have a pain stimulator and now I have been told that the stimulator doesn’t work on S1 pain. The only way I receive any relief is to lie flat in bed. Here is hoping that the S1 gives me some relief.

Hi: I'm Robert. I have a burning pain that extends from the back of the left knee down to the top of the foot. I also have diabetic neuropathy in both legs but the burning pain began after knee replacement 5 years ago. Has anyone had any success with a Nevro unit for this type of pain? I did have an ablation but while the chemical ablation one worked the permanent did not. I have also tried a TENS unit. Thanks.

Hi:
I was started with a nevetra unit , they went out of business. This implant required you to wear belt to charge battery. Not easy or quick.
They switched my battery to abott which is St.Jude around long time.
It has got me back on my feet.
I too have to adjust settings and time to time meet up with rep to adjust.
I have an iPad that comes with it to quickly adjust settings.
Just look at all your options .
Good luck 🍀

I am glad the rep is working with you on finding the right settings!

I have intractable phantom limb pain following a BKA. Has anyone received pain relief using a SCS device, and if so which device did you have implanted? Thank you in advance for all anticipated comments.

Hi Glen, my name is Ann and I have the same unit, was implanted September 2022. Still playing with the program as my excruciating back/leg/groin pain has disappeared completely on the right side but now having pain in my left side so we’re working on that. As I don’t know the extent of your pain or why you had it implanted in the first place, I don’t think I could recommend the right program to try. However, I’m currently set at 1 on the ladder and program 1. We’ve been up and down like crazy but I’m currently trying this for 2 days then my rep. is going to walk me through how to set it to below the program 1 leaving the ladder at 1 also. You could give that a try if nothing else seems to be working for you - you shouldn’t be still going through this after six months. Please let me know how it works for you. Take care and I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

I had the Nevro trial implanted in March for 5 days. I only got about 25 to 35% pain relief for my lower back and the toes of my right foot. I was expecting at least 50% relief. I did not choose to have the permanent one implanted. About 4 weeks ago I went to a different pain management doctor and tried the Boston Scientific wave runner SCS seven day trial. Unfortunately one of the leads came out and the other lead had moved. Not sure what my next move will be. Perhaps a pain pump trial. Has anyone tried the CALMARE SCRAMBLER therapy for neuropathy /nerve pain?
