@chinniechudd1943 - Hi Ginnie, Welcome to Mayo Connect. I am a transplant recipient and a mom and I can only try to imagine how upsetting this news is for you to hear about your son's transplant. I had to look up some information about calcification and I learned that Calcification is a gradual accumulation of calcium in an area of your body tissue.

Ginnie, your son's transplant team is going to be your best source of information about his condition. Of course, you will need to rely on your son to relay it to you. If this news about ineligibility for transplant has been recent, he might need need some time for himself to think about it and to accept it. Does that make sense?

Thank you so much for your input. It makes so much sense to me, but don't know about him. He's a very private person, doesn't talk much (except to close friends) and I do know that this news from last week has taken us all back. We were so sure the CT scan would show room for another kidney. Thanks again for you input. So very kind of you! Hope your transplant will last a lifetime!
