Has anyone had steroids bring on high blood pressure?

I take two medications for my high blood pressure (Primary Hyperaldosteronism, Secondary Hypertension) - hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg and spironolactone 25 mg daily. I've had two occurrence of PMR and both times I was started on 20 mg Prednisone and continued to take my bp medications with no adverse side effects. Have you discussed any concerns you might have with your primary care doc?

If I go above 15mg my blood pressure goes up. I’m on 17mg right now and my blood pressure is hovering in the low 130s. At 29mg it was in the 140s. Below 15mg, it’s usually normal. Hope this helps!

On 10 mg prednisone my need for BP meds (I take losartan and a beta blocker) has doubled!

I had high blood pressure it normalized when I reduced to 5mg prednisone

I had to start on BP meds at the onset of PMR. I assume my BP spiked due to the pain and stress before diagnosis. Then I had to double the BP meds once I started on steroids.
