Multiple conditions: How do you keep track of all your medications?
I am 71 and have been following diagnosis (seems like gussing to me) for about between 10 and 20 yrs. I take so many meds I lose track on refills or even taking each one daily. I am sure many in the connect group have the same problem but I would like to talk to someone who has so many diagnosis. ie(KCD stage 3, anxiety disorder, first degree atrioventricular block, sensorineural hearing loss bilateral, subjective tinnitus, Atypical facial pain, Orthostatic Hypotension, Adrenocortical Hypofunction, Coronary Artery disease, Internal Tremors, Hypokalemia, AFib (corrected witn cardioversion) Parkinsonism) Peripheral Neuropathy, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, Bone Diseases Metabolic, Lumbar & Cervical Radiculopathy, Aortic Valve Insufficiency, Thoracic aneurysm, RLS, Dupuytren's contraction (both hands) Pernicious anemia, Gout, and finally Hypertension. How boring I know but sometimes I just wonder Why.

@ess77 Sounds like you’ve got a great system for yourself and your son!! AND a pharmacy that works with you. You are i sharp lady! I really admire all that you can do and then you do it! Becky
@ess77 I take about 20 pills a day and use those pillbox a.m.@p.m. I fill mine weekly and like you it's working out fine .I only take 5 prescriptions so alot of supplements from good companies.
@parkerjean do you think any of the ideas mentioned will be of help to you?
Hi there! It looks as if there are a lot of us in the same boat. It's great to have the experience of long-time pill takers to help you find what will work for you. I take a slew of medications too, since my 2018 transplant and have discovered a fairly foolproof method to keep me on track. Like Ginger who is a mentor and replied earlier, once a week I fill my 7 day/4 compartment per day pill box with my current list and dosages at hand. Being able to detach a one day sleeve to take with me when I'm away from home has been very helpful. I set alarms on my phone too for 8 am and 8 pm to remind me in a way that can't be ignored and that's been good. I do one additional step: I have a phone app called Medisafe which is invaluable; it holds all the information, reminds, allows checkoffs when meds are taken and keeps track of refills; it has really been the icing on the cake, for this organization freak. It takes a little tech savy to set it up, but once done, it's a wonder. Hope this helps.
On lids of med bottles I mark am ,pm, or mid day with a marker. I use 3 different color tape for these 3 times of day. Easy to grab all bottles of same color. Then I set up for one week at a time and use the weekly pill containers to put my dailey pills in.
Make a weekly list on paper.Tape it up on your bathroom mirror. When you take a pill , then mark it off. Plus get a large weekly or 2 week pill , 7 day container. That way you only have to fill it up once or twice.
I set my meds up in AM and PM sorters once a month. If I temporarily need a midday med, I use a separate sorter. I always keep 2 days of meds and a set of inhalers in my purse so if we go off unexpectedly to care for grands or on a lark I have what I need. The habit comes from traveling for work for many years.

@sueinmn, @becsbudddy, @parkerjean, @johnbishop, and all...one very important addition- your pharmacist is your best advisor. We worked together to organize my refills to be refilled at the same time each month.
I was going bonkers calling in refills for me and my son throughout the whole month! It was exhausting and required way too much work. Too much thinking about meds and illness That's not good for my mental health, so I made the change.
Best thing ever...best thing for me emotionally. Less stress!!!
Hope this helps. Elizabeth
@ess77 and all. I do the same as you, Elizabeth. I've given control of my multiple meds per day to my pharmacy. They deliver 2 weekly blister packs every 2 weeks. Each pack is clearly marked by date and 7 individual days are marked A.M., NOON, 5:00 P.M. and BEDTIME.
My doctor phones in any changes, new additions or Rx renewals. I'm a Canadian though, so maybe this service isn't available in the U.S. It's literally a life saver. No mix-ups, no forgetting which one to take, easy peasy! Check with your pharmacist!
@parkerjean
Blister packs are great if you remember to take them. My memory is bad and I forget and would have seizures. I get my meds through the mail from CVS. The meds and date are listed on each packet but then they said they couldn’t package everything together so then I had 1 packet and 4 bottles. I still use CVS but put pilss in an automated pill dispenser and haven’t forgotten any pills since. It has an irritating alarm and calls emails and/or texts me or someone else if pills not taken.
Take care,
Jake
