COVID vaccines and neuropathy

Hi - my head swirls at all the information sometimes! B Complex works for you? I have not tried yet, want to be careful. What symptoms does it help for you? My docs have zero idea what has caused my neuropathy, but 5 years ago they said “MAYBE” a vitamin deficiency or “MAYBE” too much B6 (kinda like the medicine warnings “may cause diarrhea OR constipation, May cause drowsiness OR sleeplessness….). Anyway, back then I didn’t take B6 or any other vitamin supplements, so they have succeeded in making me nervous about taking anything without narrowing down more specifically the MAYBE vitamins with more affirmative tests. But I have heard folks talk B Complex and would like to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

Hello everyone. I am reading your stories and convinced their absolutely has to be severe side effects like this from the Covid vaccinations! I had my 2nd Moderna vaccine on May 24th of last year and 2 1/2 months later I developed numbness on my right side from my buttocks down thru my foot! I have had this for 5 months now! Never experienced anything like this before. I am a Diabetic, however, it is interesting that this neuropathy and numbness developed shortly after getting the vaccine. I also got sick after vaccine number two with body aches, chills and 102.5 fever. I am really suspect of this vaccine now and afraid to get the booster. The neuropathy continues to get worse with burning, overactive nerve sensations that shoot thru my foot, hot and cold sensations, numbness etc. My PCP agrees there is a possibility this was caused by the vaccine.

I preface the below my stating that this is a obviously a health forum. Comments regarding any perceived association between the COVID vaccine and PN should be (and in my case are) completely independent of any political views or influence. It's solely a public health issue.

With that as the preface, I have had SFN since 1994. It was generally mild, with periodic flareups. The first Pfizer dose caused no reaction, but exactly three weeks after the second dose, my legs started burning with intense pins and needles and a marked increase in fasciculations. It has generally gone unabated without a return to baseline for the past 11 months. Feeling permanent at this stage.

I understand that views and associations noted on in this forum - and by me as well - are purely anecdotal and not scientific. That said, I do believe that the vaccine is responsible for the marked worsening of my symptoms. I understand too that COVID itself has caused some to get PN symptoms in close proximity to contracting the virus. Anecdotal as well.

I just think it important that people have all the information they need to make informed decisions, no different than any other medical decision. I am profoundly NOT anti-vax. I get the flu shot annually and my entire family, including my three teenagers and wife, are fully vaccinated (and wife is boosted). Given my apparent reaction, however, I have (perhaps not surprisingly) elected to not get the booster at this time.

100% agreed. I had the reaction after both shots and the booster (all Moderna) and it's stil ongoing. My neuro surgeons says it can definitely be caused by the vaccine as he has other patients teling him the same things. This is why reporting to VAERS is so important: it might go from 'anecdotal' to facts. And from there, the vaccines can be finetuned.

DrBeen Medical Lectures on YouTube provide a balanced science-supported discussion of the potential mechanisms for the adverse vaccine effects some are experiencing. He makes the content understandable for a non-medical audience. One recent topic is potential management approaches for autoimmune disease caused by the spike protein (such as I developed with resulting peripheral neuropathy). For example, he discusses the potential merits of anti-inflammatory treatments. I hope physicians are watching this video series.
