@saylor1750, From what little I've read I don't think they help much for weight loss. A Keto diet would be much more effective for weight loss. Here's a couple of versions of the same article that talks about the pills.

I am 83 YO, Metabolism has slowed...My energy level is very low...I have a good diet( Mediterranean ) ,exercise
daily...Still gaining weight... This is not good ....Some how i have to get weight loss results....
