Anyone been diagnosed with metastatic mammary ductal carcimona?

Posted by mssewest @mssewest, Jan 11, 2022

My liver biopsy reveals METASTATIC MAMMARY DUCTAL CARCINOMA, not sure what this means exactly since I had a double mastectomy in 2012 with standard chemo and trial drug Neratanib and 35 radiation treatments.
Has anyone been diagnosed with this METASTATIC MAMMARY DUCTAL CARCINOMA, ER+ PR- Her2+ before?
What is your treatment plan?

I don’t meet with my new oncologist until January 21.

I noticed you are starting a new thread with continued information from your other thread. Maybe @colleenyoung can get these into one place where other MBC members can find you easily. I am glad you got your biopsy results. I can tell you are very distressed by this information. This was the worst time, in my journey, and I understand exactly the distress you are having. Maybe not the little components but the overall panic.
Please hear this. There is hope! Many of us are living longer with advanced cancer, even Her2+. There are a few choices that doctors start with when you are Her2+, have you had herceptin yet? Have you heard of perjeeta?

Thanks, I should be in the right place here now.
I have heard of Perjeta and I did Herceptin alone in 2013 with first diagnosis.

One more week of waiting, I am waiting with you, thinking of you every day. I like to do things that really require my brain to be engaged elsewhere during times like this. Like knitting a difficult pattern, or planning the new garden rotation, this time of year I prune everything. Do you have certain “jobs” in your world that take up your head space, and give you a reprieve from the anxiety?

I have. But i only had it in one breast and got mastectomy only on that side. I had surgery, then chemo TCHP. They said I won’t need radiation since it has been removed (mammillary lymph). Did you have chemo? Herceptin for HER2+? Best wishes for your treatment.

I did get herceptin eventually but not in my frontline therapy. It had not been approved for that yet when I was diagnosed. I did take chemo, and radiation.
How are you doing now? How long ago did you finish chemo?
