Anyone taken Evenity (romosozumab) for Osteoporosis?
Has anyone taken Evenity? I understand it’s only been on the market for a little over a year. I’m hoping it will help with my severe osteoporosis. Any information is helpful.

I honestly think they don't know. Evenity is so new. And docs rely on studies. My doc, at a top hospital, didn't seem to know about following Tymlos with Evenity. I learned about that on a forum! ps you are lucky you can lift weights...with fractures I can barely lift a seltzer bottle!
Thanks again for your help and encouragement.
I would like to know what your doc says!
Evenity is a bionosphosphate like Prolia, Fosamax and one bad side effect is necrosis of the jaw. I have had dental work $$$$ and not about to take a drug that could make me lose my teeth......
Changing the subject, is the usual protocol to have a shot given in each arm when the drug is administered?
Evenity is not a biphosphanate. It mainly grows bone, but suppresses turnover at a rate less than the biphosphanates or Prolia. Evvenity works by suppressing sclerostin. (For that matter, Prolia is not a biphosphanate either.) The danger of losing your teeth is very very very small with Evenity. The danger of fracture may be high, at least for some. You take it for a year and it turbocharges bone growth.
I have been on Evenity since last April. It can only be taken for 1 year. So far, the only side effect I have had is site swelling and itching. I will have another dexascan in March.
Great clarification. Do you have any info on why the risk of fracture is high for some or can point me in the direction of related documentation? Would like to understand what makes someone more at risk for fracture. So the bottom line is whether Evenity can grow bone faster than the turnover rate of bone in an individual’s body. Thanks
2 shots are given each month.
Fracture risk grows on biphosphanates and Prolia with the length of time on the drug, mostly after 5 years. I don't understand your "bottom line is whether Evenity can grow bone fast then the turnover rate of bone in an individual's body." Evenity grows bone the fastest of any drug and also suppresses turnover.
