Anyone taken Evenity (romosozumab) for Osteoporosis?

Posted by arlene7 @arlene7, May 27, 2020

Has anyone taken Evenity? I understand it’s only been on the market for a little over a year. I’m hoping it will help with my severe osteoporosis. Any information is helpful.

@iowagal To get a stress fracture after nine months on Evenity must be discouraging. What did your doctor say about that?

He said that a fracture of this type is not due to osteoporosis.

I have one more dose if Evenity and have my bone scan in March 2022. am anxious to see if it helped. I have been getting stress fractures in my right foot for years on and off. i just need to be extra careful as my bones are aging. i have worn a boot. and when i feel the metatarsals start to burn i use the boot again for a couple weeks. mine are caused by the way i sleep with my right foot cupped in my left foot believe it or not.

It will be interesting to see the results of your bone scan. I hope it’s much improved. I’m going start Evenity in April I believe. Wishing you great results. What are you going to take after you are through with Evenity?

Age-- 73
Reason for starting Evenity--I have tried other meds such as Reclast, Tymlos, etc. & experienced multiple spontaneous fractures while taking them. My foot is my 23rd fracture. I was referred to an osteogenesis imperfecta specialist who said I did not have O. I. He is the only doctor in the Portland metro area who prescribes Evenity. So, he is handling my case for this year.
Yes, I am in a boot. I don't hold out too much hope though. I fractured my upper arm 1 1/2 years ago and it still hasn't joined - even with an ultrasound bone stimulator.
I am looking forward to my dexascan in March. Hopefully, I will have gained some bone density. On the other medicines, I continued to lose density.

We haven't talked about that yet. The doctor told me that Evenity was the newest drug available for osteoporosis.

Thank you for sharing, you poor thing, that is a lot of fractures. Hopefully Evenity will have improved your bones somewhat. To keep that improvement you need to continue on with another medication as I am sure you know. Hope you will update when you get your scan and let us know what follow up drug you will use. I will be starting Evenity soon and will post a profile when I get closer to d-date. Be well.

I’m new here…Starting Evenity this week…My T score for my spine is -4.2 and -2.9 for my hips. I’ve had no fractures. I was diagnosed with Graves Disease 9 years ago and received treatment - apparently had gone undiagnosed for quite a few years - I attribute my poor BD to Graves. I’m really nervous but also terrified that my TScore is so severe. Researched all available treatments and decided Evenity is the way to proceed. Wish me luck.

Glad you are taking something. My spine was -3.0 and with one unusual movement, I fractured three lumbar vertebrae. I did not think it would happen to me. It is still painful and disabling 9 months later. I wish you the best of luck with Evenity.

Did you take treatment with Evenity or one of the other Osteo medications?
