@railroad1234, welcome. I see that you posted your concern about a swollen tonsil to the Cancer group. When strange things happen in our bodies, it is so easy to leap to the worst case scenario. I wouldn't assume cancer is the issue. But you should see your doctor, especially since the swollenness is asymmetrical (not the same in both tonsils).

Tonsils are part of the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system helps you avoid illness and infection. It’s your tonsils’ job to fight off viruses and bacteria that enter your mouth. Tonsils can become infected by viruses and bacteria. When they do, they swell up. Swollen tonsils is known as tonsillitis.

How long was your right tonsil swollen? Have you had an infection recently? Have you seen your doctor about this issue?

Hello @railroad1234

I'm sorry to hear about the swollen tonsil. I'm glad that the steroid injections helped. Did your doctor indicate the cause of the swollen tonsil?

Oh, I'm glad that you will see an ENT specialist, @railroad1234

Perhaps he/she can shed more light on the enlarged tonsil and also the ear problem.

I would be interested in hearing what the ENT doctor has to say. Will you post again after you see the ENT?
