How long will I continue to test positive?

You’re going to be tested for the 3rd time On Feb 11, correct? Did you actually have the virus or were you just exposed? Does your work place have any specific requirements regarding testing and returning to work?
You might also check the website for the public health department in your town. I did put the link here for the CDC.

I actually have COVID. Tested positive first time 1/5. Will I still test positive on 2/11? My work's COVID plan requires a negative to return.

Yes.. .I understand the contagious part. It is an office setting my employer doesn't care about anything but a negative. So how long to test negative after testing positive for COVID 19,

I tested positive on January 7, 2021 and was told I was save to go out on Jan.25th unless I still had a fever. On Friday Feb 5th I was in the ER for a possible heart attack was rapid tested and it was negative. So just under 4 weeks.

Hi, my husband and I both contracted the Covid the first of October. We had not been vaccinated and we were immediately given an antibody infusion and we are doing very well after 6 weeks. We were told if we are required to be tested for Covid again, it will probably come back positive at this time. Does anyone know how long before we will get a negative or will we always show positive. We are in our 70's and would like to travel, now that we are doing so well.

Hello @jklewis and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. This is obviously one of those areas that gets tricky, especially when you weave in wanting to travel, isn't it? You will notice that I've moved your post into an existing discussion on the same topic.

The first thing I'd like to clarify is what testing you are talking about taking? There are two types of test as you might know. The viral test detects Covid infections and ]the other is to detect Covid antibodies (following an infection).

When is the last time you tested and when do you plan to re-test?

We both were tested positive for Covid when we first got sick. We are retired and have not been tested again since the first test. My pulmonologist suggested I wait to have a test for him to give my body a chance to completely recover. That made me wonder about testing for travel. Thanks for replying.

We were tested 8th of October. No specific travel plans at this time, just trying to get info before we try. Thanks for repling.

From my Covid 19. We will test positive for 3 months or 90 days
