Lupus and blood disorder (elevated WBC/monocytes & lymph’s)?

Can lupus make it seem like you could possibly have a blood disorder? I was referred to Hematology/ oncology for unexplained bruising and high WBC counts. I received no answers, no Bone marrow biopsies. It’s hard not feeling like they are missing something .

Hi there, I recently had a CBC come back with elevated neutrophils, monocytes, lymphocytes and WBC count. I have been experiencing unexplained bruising, gum bleeding and GI issues. I do have Lupus and MCTD. I currently take Benlysta infusions.

I tested positive for Antiphosphilipid and Von Willebrands. My Dr. decided to re draw the Von Willebrands and it was right on the line of abnormal and normal range.

Hi @stephchurch, I was diagnosed with APS as well. Just wondering what your experience with it is? I am constantly concerned about blood clots and often experience shortness of breath and severe aches in my back, neck, knees. I’m only 21 and am borderline for developing lupus in the future.

@elizabeth513 Concern about blood clots is a lot for a 21 yr old. Has your doctor given you any guidance on preventing them?

Hi Elizabeth, I haven’t had any issues with blot clots but we follow precautions. I work in healthcare and wear compression socks when I’m on my feet all day. I had a hysterectomy last October, I cannot have any hormone replacement therapy and they do have me on DVT precautions when flying long distance. I just remember, keep moving. Keep your legs going and if you feel pain and swelling and and they are hot don’t ignore it.
