Last time I got the Orgain st Costco, it was an 18 pack on sale for $18 regularly $24 for the 20 gram protein shake. I just checked Amazon and they sell the 12 pack, 20 gram shake, for $29.95.

You can get it for $19 on Amazon but you have to dig into some well hidden alternatives but your Costco price is great.

Started Prozac 4 weeks ago feeling nauseous still and very nervous upon waking. Not sure if higher dose needed. I’m on 20 mags at present.

Don't be embarrassed, I was seeing a psychiatrist for anxiety and mild depression, he prescribed six different medications one after the other and they all made me feel worse so I decided to get a second opinion with a different Dr. and She recomended Lorazepam 5mg. I'm still not out of the woods yet, I ask my pcp about the 5HTP supplement, and he said that some of his patients are taking it and they really are happy taking those supplements rather then drugs, so I'm going to try them here pretty soon, will keep you posted.

I’ve considered taking 5HTP supplement too but heard you can lose weight on it. I am wondering if 5HTP is take-able on a “as needed” (PRN) basis to reduce getting that side effect?

Best wishes for continued recovery. Several years ago I was taking lorazepam for anxiety issues, starting at 3X daily eventually weaning off after a few years. My dose was 0.5mg and was effective. My query is if the dose you quoted at 5.0 mg is correct or a typo.

Hi @a9g You will see that I moved your post to one that you previously posted to where people are talking about the 5-HPT supplements.
I am glad that you consulted with your primary about starting something alternate toyour medication before going on it.
Have you researched any side effects?

I take Bupropion XL 150 my & Duloxetine DR 60mg, one each every morning. They work well together but I do not see a psychiatrist only my PCP. I prefer not to take benzodiazepines because they can be addictive. I do relay on deep breathing when really stressed & anxious.

Common side effects may include: drowsiness; nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, heartburn; diarrhea; .Although not all side effects are known. This is pretty much the same side effects that are shown on almost all the paper work that you are given on prescriped medication at the pharmacy. I talk with my pcp about starting on the 5-HTP supplements, he told me that it was Ok to start on the 5-HTP supps see how they work for me,I asked him if I could take them bought at the same time and he said yes, He told me he was going to suggest the supplements, so I could start tapering off from the .5mg of the Lorazepam, he also said that he has patients that are taking the 5-HTP and that they claim its working good for them, so I just started taking them yesterday evening, so see how it works for me, will keep you posted. I take my .5mg lorazepam in the morning around 8:30-9:00 and take the 5-HTP in the evening around 8:-8:30pm. wish me luck. till next day.
