I am 87 and was very healthy and wass trong, on Eliquis I have very dizzyy spells, the VA suggested taking Dramamine, is this an effective detererrent for this condition or am I just talking another chemical my body doesn't need?

Meclizine is better for dizziness but both meclizine and dramamine cause sleepiness. Do you know if you have BPPV? That is a common cause for dizziness and is remedied with exercises that shift ear crystals back in place. Or it may not be BPPV, which is easy to test for.
