What's outside of your picture window today?

Posted by John, Volunteer Mentor @johnbishop, Nov 25, 2020

As we get ready for the real winter to show up and COVID-19 still playing a major part in our lives I like to spend moments of my day de-stressing about what's going on in the world today. All I have to do is look out the window and observe some of natures beautiful creatures, how they interact and ponder how small it makes my troubles seem. Sometimes I may even get the opportunity to take a photo or two. How about you? Anything going on outside of your window(s) that you want to share?

For those members that have the ability to size your photos before you upload them to the discussion, may I suggest using the following sizes:
– 500 x 335 pixels (landscape)
– 210 x 210 pixels (square)

Oh! You can tell I lived a very sheltered, somewhat naive life and no 'fun' stuff as a kid. Missed a lot, I'm beginning to understand.
Don't feel well today. Please send me some 'funny' mushrooms asap. I need them..

Well, my goodness. Dear Lori, I couldn't stand it and did a bit of research re your cute little Revenel's Stinkhorn mushroom. HMMMM. I see why someone might think you're dealing in a porn site, but I love it! It a perfect match, as I can remember.....almost perfect, and is edible, my friend, if it's in the egg stage. It's been a very long several years since I've seen anything like this, but that's sadly my problem. They talk a lot about them in Minn and Florida. Didn't mention how they taste or if they're any good or have any benefit to humans....Think it would have been so funny to send that pic to us. Chicken....Off to bed. I'm truly beat. love you all....elizabeth

Hahahahaha, you’re too funny, Elizabeth!!! But now you see why I’m not posting. And ugh…and it’s an edible fungus. Well, there are braver people than I am out there. 😂 glad I could bring you a chuckle. Hugs…

Beautiful! What a lovely big boy. Wouldn't want to be a kitty outside in one of your 'nice' cool mornings. Poor kitty...
Where are you living? Minnesota? I will when I' m able send a plethora of pictures from sunny, rainy. tropical Florida. Have pics, John @johnbushop sent instructions, I just have to feel up to figuring it out and then we'll be able to share.

Blessings all. Just got back from 3 pharmacies trying to find a med for my son. No one in town has the size, capsule, and can't change doe...so, tomorrow am, early, I'll call doctor on call & try to solve this mess. It's exhausting. It'll get done. Life! Ughhhhh!
Well, blessings and sleep well. I'm ready for my new 4" mattress topper on my new mattress....to add some soft, cooling I need due to med issues...night! Elizabeth

Must have a nest!

Thank you, Laurie. We feel pretty lucky to have found this spot and spent a long time in the search. 65% of the shoreline is a state forest so we have few people on this large lake. It’s beauty isn’t lost on us and we’re stewards of the land and forest here. ☺️

@loribmt Oooh, Lori! Awesome to be stewards of such a heaven on earth. And I know you and your husband do it justice, what with your mutual love of nature and concern and care for our environment. Bravo.

I live in Oregon, this is a young red shouldered hawk. We think his/her nest is very close. We have a creek that runs through our property and woodlands all around, breakfast here, lunch and dinner at different neighbors but always close by.
Enjoy your new mattress, cooling is heaven at night.

We see deer almost daily in our yard. This was yesterday from our screened porch, there were three but the others went into the woods. The deer have gotten so used to humans that they look at us with no fear now. They're so pretty but they do damage our foundation plantings a lot.

Many people on our street see bears in their yards but I never have. It's happening so often now that I think if I had young children I wouldn't want them playing in the yard without being there with them.

Jeez, when I want to go on a safari I'll just come east, who needs Africa.
