Blood/patch procedures have been used successfully for a very long time. Unfortunate you did not have a positive outcome. Good luck on finding an answer.
@johnbishop, and all. Hello, John. Interesting to hear your experience with these oils, etc. I don't notice any change in the numbness of my feet and legs either, but it does help reduce my pain levels for a time. I'm getting good results from these unusual sources, and so pleased. but they as temporary. I think I'm finding I do well using the CBD lotion an frankincense and Myrrh balm during the day when I have flare-ups or before bed to help with rest. They happily help me for a time that eases the discomfort. I thank you and Chris for your input and help. You both are true jewels and helping so many with your experiences. Thanks and keep the info coming.

Did you see my post earlier this morning on supplements? I received a newsletter email from the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy that had a great article listing the different supplements and how they help the nerves. Do you take them? Have you noticed any improvement or change?
I'm already taking D, B complex, Magnesium, and give myself a B12 shot every 2weeks, as I have serious B and D deficiencies. My grandfather died from pernicious anemia, so it may a DNA thing. My son has same only worse than I.
We'll see what happens...where do you get most of your supplements?
Also, can you add anything re the acids, etc?

Thanks for lotion info. I use a roll on called STOPAIN that works better and lasts longer than Biofreeze or Cryoderm. Not costly.
Tried CBD OIL and CBD gummies - saw no effect from either. 😞

I also take Doctor's Best Curcumin Phytosome with Meriva 500 mg and Qunol Mega Ubiquinol CoQ10 100mg daily along with the protocol which I get from Amazon or Costco. I feel like the protocol has helped my feet quite a bit but that's just me. The Curcumin (Turmeric) I think helps with inflammation and the Ubiquinol CoQ10 hopefully is helping my heart health. I've discussed them with my previous doctor who didn't have any issues with them but haven't had a discussion with my new doctor yet.

Thanks, my friend. I'll run some of this by my new rheumatologist since I've got some new rather serious autoimmune issues and infections. I betcha' he'll give me the go ahead, and I will. I know Curcumin will help with inflammation, but with my esophagus and intestinal stuff, I gave my new bottle to my son and will begin it when get the olk. Then. I'll be sooooo healthy!

I talked to my PT therapist about this. It is main stream and practical theory but not for everyone. Therapist says it is for the facia which is more on the surface and does not help any issues with the deep tissues. She says it is not for me and did deep tissue work which helped greatly with pain between spine and hip at L-5 s-1.
Hello @mcd123, welcome to Connect. Thank you for joining the conversation about pain rehabilitation at the Mayo Clinic. You ask a great question, and my answer is a resounding, yes, rehab worked for me.
Mayo's Pain Rehab Center (PRC) set me up for success by helping me to look differently at the way I see, respond, and live with chronic pain, in the following ways:
1. A physical therapy (PT) plan designed to gradually help recondition my deconditioned body, a cardio routine in the form of walking and/or use of a therapeutic recumbent bike, and a morning stretch routine that gently works each joint from jaw to toe. I maintain this PT plan at home.
2. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) sessions revealed the science of how the brain responds to chronic pain and the cognitive errors it makes. I learned how to catch and correct these errors. I learned coping mechanisms and tools for better emotional and behavioral stability including; self care, distraction, humor, forgiveness, grace, perspective, pause, etc...
3. Occupational therapy (OT) taught me how to use modification and moderation in every day life skills in order to achieve the best possible outcome for my body. Training in the use of proper ergonomics was very helpful, as was learning about proper nutrition and what feeds into pain verses helping it.
4. Gradually weaned off opiates, and other non-medically necessary medications, which only enhanced my pain.
5. Learned how to properly breath, calm and relax my body via bio- feedback sessions.
6. Schedule, schedule, schedule. The importance of scheduling my days as to hold myself accountable and apply all of the things I learned.
7. Developed a "difficult day" plan.
I hope my answer gives you insight as to how PRC has helped me live to the best of my abilities with chronic pain and symptoms.
