Long term effects AFTER withdrawing from Effexor
I am wondering if anyone has had any experience like this. I weaned off Effexor three years ago. After doing so I have gradually developed what is now becoming debilitating chronic pain. I am wondering if there is any way that being on Effexor for 15 years could have caused me to develop this pain now that I am not on it anymore. Thanks for your thoughts. I can’t seem to find any direct related research on this.

You should file a complaint with the FDA.

Fantastic comment !
Thanks.
i skip effexor doses just to experience the most vivid bizarre dreams, though sometimes the can be terrifying, waking up and moving my legs away from where they are and crawling out of bed to wake up because of spider dreams.
Im not sure if the bad dreams are worse or these horrid brain zaps (omg) not sure if i can handle many more, i could not even shop in a crowded walmart because of them.
Am wondering if GABA supplements can replace effexor

Pain WHERE? Joints, muscles, head?
Effexor has damaged my vision & other parts of my brain. Motor control of my extremities. E.g shakes, handwriting, coordination etc.
It’s a terrible drug. I was on it for a year and had to come off and it was a nightmare. After I finished my last pill the next day I started Zoloft, it took a couple of weeks before I felt better. I will only take an a serotonin antidepressant.
After reading comments I feel less alone about my struggles with Effexor.
I feel like it never helped me much even after being on it for at least 2-3 years.
I finally finished the long process of weaning. Now I have crazy emotions. Like I seriously tear up over little things and I was never one to just cry. I also have experienced an increase in food cravings.
Feeling frustrated.
Speak to your doctor, of course, but I do feel this will get better with time. The same thing happened to me when I tapered Paxil. Effexor and Paxil are especially difficult to taper.
