Repeated UTI & Yeast infection w/ autonomic neuropathy

I was diagnosed with SFN about 4 months ago, mostly autonomic issues. I've been diagnosed with 2 UTI's and 3 yeast infections since then. This time I had both at the same time, and even after treatment, it still seems to be lingering. Before my diagnosis, it had been years since I had either.

I drink lots of fluid each day (150+ oz) and take cranberry extract daily, so I'm being preventative.

Does anyone else seem to have chronic urinary & yeast issues? I'm wondering whether SFN may have something to do with my body not getting over them.

Thoughts?

I had a similar problem to yours. Saw many gynecologists. Finally I was referred to an astute dermatologist who asked me whether there was any asthma in my family or any eczema in the family, to which I responded in the affirmative and whetherI had had any genital surgery. Finally after a skin biopsy she diagnosed me with lichen sclerosis, an autoimmune skin disease. I was put on a steroid ointment to be used several times a week for 3 weeks on and one week off, as well as amitriptyline for pain as an off label use. I also take pregabalin (lyrica) for nerve pain, without any side effects at all. Now My lichen sclerosis is completely under control (no more pain) no more yeast infections, fewer bladder infections which at any rate have a different cause in post menopausal women. I would recommend any women who is struggling with your symptoms of (possibly wrongly diagnosed yeast and or bladder infections) to see a dermatologist who has experience treating lichen sclerosis. Hope this helps all women who are looking for possible answers be at least screened for LS.
