Medical Devices for Neuropathy

Posted by dablues @dablues, Jul 3, 2021

Does anyone know if any of the medical devices for neuropathy really work? Am considering getting something to help me just in case my health insurance does not cover getting treatment for peripheral neuropathy if that is what I have. I will find out but need to know about these devices.

@dablues, sorry to say there is no magic device or bullet that is going to fix neuropathy for everyone. I've thought about a few and spent a lot of money on an expensive tens unit specifically for neuropathy and it did nothing for me. Others have mentioned it has helped some but each of us are a little different. I think you have to do your own research and decide what to spend your money on when it's not covered by health insurance. Here is some information that you might find helpful when trying to determine if a product is on the up and up....

I’ve used an anodyne machine for MS neuropathy in my feet for the past 20 yrs. It works wonderfully for horrible pain, numbness and tingling in them. I’ve used it on my hands too. Unfortunately, Medicare no longer covers the price of these machines because, according to them, they don’t work. Wrong, imho. My mom has been on chemo for 2 yrs and she has had horrible swelling in her legs and feet. It’s the only thing that has helped for her problem as well.
